Kittens are Stable!

They are all now eating well, taking the bottle like little Champs. Upon further inspection, we have kittens from 2 litters. Little Tux boy is way older than the others, has most of his baby teeth, so I'd guess about the 5 week mark for him. The others, based on teeth and the "wobbly" stink bug walk are about 3.5 weeks. Tomorrow, they will get a bath, they are covered in fleas and flea dirt. But, healthy lungs, eating well, USING THE LITTER BOX! Thats blowing my mind a bit, so young and already pottying in litter on their own.

Well, when life knows you've been down in the dumps from the loss in your life, it tends to send you things that need you.

In my case, my first rescue kittens of 2026. Im surprised I've made it this long into the year without kittens.

These 4 are between 3 and 4 weeks old. They were "free kittens" someone was trying to hand out in front of a grocery store. Thankfully, for both kittens and potential new short term families, no one took any before I got there. They surely would not have survived, like the AM PM situation from last year. My friend contacted me to help, and person agreed to wait so I could come get all 4. They are learning how to drink from a bottle, as they have no teeth emerged yet to even think about eating solid food.

All 4 boys, 2 orange tabby, one tabby, and one tuxedo 🖤🧡

What do you do with a Stringer full of big Ole catfish?

Catfish fry of course!

These channel cats were from our AZ trip last month. They were sitting in the freezer awaiting this, as its best to freeze wild caught fish or game for 2-3 weeks in case they had any bugs.

Finally gathered supplies for a fry for some! Buttermilk bath, then battered in seasoned cornmeal/flour mix and tried in the mini grill! They came out amazing, though now I know why my battery didnt stick so well 😆

Next to try cooking rabbit legs this way! I got alot of buttermilk to get through.

The Beetle Bunker 2.0! ☢️

Complete with:
2- 12v exhaust fans (one for fresh air in, one for air out) Inlet is up top, exhaust out above the layer of bedding. Air flow is KEY, or odors and ammonia can build up💨

Temperature probe and temperature control system. Beetles ideally need to stay about 82-85° to eat, breed, and produce 👌

Ceramic Heat Emitter attached to said temp control system, with touch protection because that thing WILL cause Third Degree burns. Dont ask me how I know.. Does not emit light, as beetles do their best work in the dark 💪🌚

Ample Organic Cotton bedding for Beetle Safety as well as nesting materials. 🪲🍃

Im trying to propagate some roses from very special OLD bushes and I do NOT have a green thumb! Ones a running rose, one a standard I think, thats all I can tell you 😅

Any suggestions or anyone a Rose Whisperer that can help? Followed what info I could to a T. Many many cuttings from healthy growth with nodes to hopefully make at least 1 of both survive. (each? There may be 3 bushes now, I have to ask)

My best friend of almost 13 years has crossed the rainbow bridge..

Some of our followers may know, but the very reason we started raising rabbits was for this dog right here. After years and years of vet visits, testing, skin allergies, digestive issues, chronic ear infections and more, we decided to try the raw diet. This is what cured Ishe. Countless allergy tests, we came to the conclusion that he was allergic to potato starch, peas, duck, goose, fowl of any kind (mild and manageable allergies to chicken), and more I can't think of now.

Raising rabbits for his raw food is what started all of this. Rabbit is one of the only proteins that ALL of my animals can have with no reactions. Every day its sad to think that the one that started my drive to do this is gone, but he will live on. I will continue to raise rabbits and other livestock to have healthy meat in the freezer for my pets and my family. And I'll think of him every day for years to come 💔💕

My first Painted Rock Boneworks commission!

This is a coyote that beetles did most of the work on, I just gotta finish. This is the gross part most people don't think about. I got to pick all the exposed bones out, then it'll soak (peep the brown water vs the nice white bubbles from the soap) until remaining tissue softens enough to peel off. The scrub, sanitize and whiten!

Like father, like daughter!

Left is Atlas the Broken blue Silver Fox who was a very impatient bun waiting his turn on the Show Table at Calstate 2025. Atlas was with us for a bit, went back to Rawhide Ranch & Rabbitry and then came back for a short while. While he was with us the most recent time, he bred Rose and out came Amber aka PRR Amber Clad, who is a broken black with his personality. Boy does it show!
