Our favorite farrier, Loren, stopped by the farm 🏡 to give our horses 🐴 some much needed hoof care 👍🏽
A great farrier 🧲 is worth his weight in gold 💛, and we’re lucky to have one of the best 💪🏽.
And let’s not forget Loki 🐾, who is always excited to see Loren❗️We’re pretty sure Loki 🐾 thinks Loren comes to the barn just to visit him 😂

THE RESULTS ARE IN:

Gus 🍭 is a mix of 3️⃣ rare breeds… 1. Galiceno
2. Garrano
3. Venezuelan Criollo
No one guessed even one of these but that’s okay 👍🏽 we all had fun trying to guess❗️Thank you Emilie for letting us join in on the fun 🤗

Galiceno is Spanish 🇪🇸 has a great temperament and is intelligent 🧠. Part of their genetic stock is the older Garrano which resides in Portugal 🇵🇹 in the mountains 🏔️ . Also known as sober and willing to work 💪🏽. The pictures of Galiceno really look like Gus 🍭. The Venezuelan Croillo was introduced from Spain 🇪🇸 . There are many varieties in different south and central american countries. All 3️⃣ breeds are pony sized but classified as horses 🐴. All 3️⃣ breeds have good endurance and either are working horses, used for trails or even raced 🏇. The Galiceno has a distinctive fast walk that is used in racing.
Thank you Emilie for this Interesting read 📖 and we’re excited to learn more and more about the family barn horses we have here on the farm 🏡.
If anyone wants to do this with their horses 🐴 please let me know 👍🏽
