Iā€™m heading to DC for a political event with . Itā€™s tonight, Friday, June 5,
5:30 - 7:30pm (1719 G Street NW). Tickets are $100 or $25 for young democrats. Come hang out with me (Jean the human behind this account).

We back candidates for the North Carolina State House who support fair maps, access to the ballot box, reproductive rights, and have a respect for local governance (due to Dillonā€™s Rule limiting local governmentā€™s rights.)

I might post pictures this weekend, but theyā€™ll likely be old since the boys arenā€™t coming to DC and Kirby isnā€™t known for taking pictures.

Nothing makes a guest feel more welcome than putting your bare butt on their bed! When youā€™re here, youā€™re family. Winston absolutely would have faked a tummy ache to get his mom to pick him up from his sleepover if he had the wherewithal.

I went to the grocery and explained that I had a nervous dog and needed to win him over with steak. The butcher sold me $40 worth of steak telling me it was the best deal. He was right!

Winston was our friend Saraā€™s fatherā€™s dog and he seems to naturally gravitate towards Steak Dad Kirby. Challenge accepted!

We were instructed to carry Winston up and down stairs because his pe**ee hits the stairs, but heā€™s been going up and down them like a champ. His wiener can take a little pounding. Iā€™d be happy to carry him up and down to protect his junk, but heā€™s still a little scared of me and would prefer I not carry him.

I know youā€™re not gonna believe me, but I didnā€™t see the šŸ† until after I took the pictures. Yā€™all know Orsonā€™s side hust...

Hopefully this fledgling makes better choices in the future. My backyard is not a safe space for little animals. šŸ˜… I keep seeing a bunny back there and Iā€™m really hoping there isnā€™t a baby bunny nest for the dogs to find.

Orson was just playing with this fledgling but the poor thing could have easily had a heart attack.

New friends! Winston came over for a play date because heā€™s having a sleepover with Jaqweenie and Orson next week and we wanted to make sure heā€™s comfortable. Orson did his best to welcome him, but Winston wasnā€™t so sure about the situation.

Winstonā€™s face in the second picture! He did consent to some butt scratches from steak dad so he started to warm up at the end. Winston is not making fun of Orsonā€™s wiggle wand in the first picture. He has a fancy foot.

When you brush your dogā€™s teeth every night and they look like this! Time for Jaqweenieā€™s yearly dental.

This actually gives you a good look at how crooked Jaqweenieā€™s jaw is. We had to remove his lower incisor when we adopted him because it was poking a hole in the roof of his mouth. The MRI showed that it was going to pierce his nasal cavity. The disreputable rescue we got him from told us it was totally fine and wasnā€™t hurting him. šŸ˜ Luckily I didnā€™t believe them. Removing that tooth is why his tongue hangs out. There is no structural integrity to hold it in place!

You see that bump on the roof of his mouth? That is the incisive papilla which serves as the primary entrance to the incisive duct, which bridges the oral cavity and the vomeronasal organ (Jacobsonā€™s organ) to facilitate the detection of pheromones and semiochemicals. You can see Jacobsonā€™s Organ Connection in action in the video. Jaqweenie licked some p*e and was really fully experiencing it.

Fun fact- after we had Jaqweenie for a couple of years I found out that Kirby thought that bump was actually a tooth that hadnā€™t erupted yet. šŸ˜†
