Meet Mushu and Turbo! 🤗

These two have been working on calmer door manners, starting with one of the most important parts of training: preventing rehearsal of old habits. By keeping the pups away from the entryway while guests come and go, their family has already noticed less barking and reactivity.

They’ve also started doing nosework every evening, and we’ve discovered that Turbo finds sniffing on a snuffle mat especially helpful for settling.

This session, we started building a new routine with mat training. Mushu is already able to hear knocks at the door and immediately redirect to his mat!

Eventually, the goal is for a knock at the door to become his cue to head to his mat automatically. Short sessions set up for success can lead to calmer transitions for everyone.

Teddy graduated from his training program! 🥳

Teddy has grown SO much since we started working together! This sweet adolescent has made huge progress with puppy chasing and mouthing, is much easier to redirect when he gets overexcited, and has built some super useful household skills along the way.

For his final session, we worked on putting those skills to real-life use: settling on a mat during family meals and learning that the doorbell can mean “go to bed!” instead of alerting the whole household about it.

Teddy’s still an enthusiastic young dog with plenty of growing up to do, but now his family has a whole toolbox for helping him channel that excitement into better choices.

Welcome to Howling Moon Pet Care, Iggy! This very sweet mixed puppy is about five months old now. He’s very bright, sensitive, and loves using his nose. Iggy will be working on brushing up basic cues for more consistent responses, settling on his bed, and building confidence. Iggy isn’t “in love” with food, so we’ll also be exploring alternative reinforcement with toys, building up playful strategies with treats to engage his interest, and getting to know what he likes best. We can’t wait to get to know him better!

Twinning! Both Trek and Groovy love their PEMF mats from Respond Animal Therapeutics !
