Mika came to us through a volunteer from our amazing friends at Operation Catnip-Raleigh, NC . An all-volunteer organization that provides vital spay/neuter procedures and vaccines for community cats. Because these cats are often nervous or unhandled, they arrive safely in traps and are sedated for a thorough wellness check: microchip scan, weigh-in, surgery, vaccines, and a left ear tip so everyone knows they have been fixed and vaccinated. 🩺✨
Since May, Mika had been hanging out at a local elementary school, where kind-hearted staff started feeding her. When they finally safely trapped her and brought her to us, luck was on Mika's side! The routine microchip scan not only found a chip—it was registered!
Miss Mika had been missing for 19 months and ended up 11 miles away from her family! We are so overjoyed to report she is finally back home where she belongs (and she definitely has some stories to tell). 🏡🐱
