SPCA of Wake County - K9 Crew To highlight dogs available for adoption at the SPCA of Wake County in Raleigh, NC - especially those that are long timers.

The K9 Crew, an initiative of the SPCA of Wake County's Behavior Team, is a group of trained volunteers that focus on highlighting some of the dogs who linger at the SPCA. The K9 Crew was first called the "Pit Crew" and originated to repair and rebuild the reputation of the American Pit Bull Terrier in our community. That work will continue as we move forward as the K9 Crew.

This sweet 3-year-old girl weighs about 28 pounds and is ready to walk her way right into your heart! ❤️ Maddie walks beautifully on leash with no pulling, loves meeting people, and gets along with other dogs. She knows sit, down, and paw, and she’s always happy to lean in for pets and affection. 🐶

Maddie has been diagnosed with heartworm disease and will be starting treatment soon. Please speak with an adoption specialist to learn more about her treatment and care.

This sweet 10-year-old, 58-pound gentleman has been patiently waiting at the SPCA for his new home, and he’s ready for his turn! Sawyer loves going for walkies, exploring the world, and enjoying some quality time outside. After his adventures, he’s happy to relax on his bed and chill. Of course, he still has his silly, playful moments, too! 😄

Sawyer would love a home where he can enjoy his walks and then kick back and relax with his favorite people. He can be reactive to other dogs while on leash, so he’ll do best with someone who can help him enjoy his walks comfortably.

Hi there! I'm Gwyneth, a sweet, 8-year-old senior lady who is ready to find my true forever home. I am a fully grown, pint-sized companion weighing in at a perfect 24 pounds—which means I am just the right size to fit perfectly right on your lap!
I was previously adopted, but through no fault of my own, my owner was unable to continue caring for me. It’s been a little confusing, but I haven't let it break my spirit. I am still full of charm, life, and so much devotion.

Harp is a 6-month-old sweetheart who has SPCA staff and volunteers wondering, “How has this girl not been adopted yet?” 💕🐾

She may be a little unsure at first, but once she’s comfortable, her silly, playful personality shines! She loves attention, treats, and going for walkies—and she walks beautifully on leash. 🐕

Harp currently weighs about 37 lbs and may grow to around 50–65 lbs. She’s ready to find a loving family who will help her continue building confidence and let her fun-loving personality shine! 💗
