At Clear Water Aquariums, we design, install, and maintain premium freshwater and marine aquariums for residential and commercial clients across the Triangle. We take pride in crystal-clear water, healthy livestock, and pristine setups. We are expanding our team and looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented individual to join us as a Full-Time Aquarium Service Professional.
# # # Position Overview
You will be the face of Clear Water Aquariums on the road, traveling to client sites to handle routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and livestock care. While we provide robust training on our specific protocols and advanced systems, **a foundational knowledge of basic saltwater and freshwater aquarium maintenance is required.**
# # # Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine maintenance on client aquariums (water changes, algae scraping, glass cleaning, filter media replacement).
* Test water chemistry (pH, salinity, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates) and adjust dosing/parameters accordingly.
* Monitor fish, coral, and plant health; identify and treat common diseases.
* Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot aquarium equipment (pumps, skimmers, lighting, RO/DI systems).
* Interact professionally with clients, answering questions and providing excellent customer service.
* Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and track inventory.
# # # What We Are Looking For
* **Experience:** Proven basic knowledge of freshwater and saltwater aquarium hobbyist practices (cycling a tank, water chemistry basics, common species care). Professional experience is a plus, but a passionate, long-term hobbyist background is highly valued!
* **Reliability:** A clean driving record and a valid NC driver’s license are mandatory. You must be comfortable driving a service vehicle around the Triangle.
* **Physical Ability:** Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (buckets, salt boxes, equipment) and stand/bend for extended periods.
* **Attributes:** Detail-oriented, self-motivated, punctual, and comfortable working independently at client locations.
