Telling people that the biggest obstacle to their dogās success is often the environment theyāve created, not the most fun!
This weekās conversations included:
ā¢ Your dog isnāt anxious because theyāre broken. Theyāre responding to a lifestyle that overwhelms them.
ā¢ Bringing your dog everywhere isnāt fixing their inability to be alone. Itās avoiding it
ā¢ Your resident dogs deserved more consideration before another animal was added to the household.
ā¢ Your dog is licking you because youāre ignoring their requests for space.
ā¢ The training plan didnāt fail. The consistency did.
The truth is, behavior doesnāt happen in a vacuum. Dogs adapt to the home theyāre living in, not the home we think weāre providing. Sometimes progress requires uncomfortable changes from everyone, not just the dog.
