🌲🐴 When we aren’t showing, we’re still having fun! 💕

There’s nothing quite like trading the show ring for a quiet trail ride through the woods. 🌿🐎 Time outside the ring gives our horses a chance to relax, explore, build confidence, and just enjoy being horses.

💗 What a fantastic weekend at Sedgefield at the Park! 🩷

We’re so proud of everyone and all they accomplished this weekend!

✨ Highlights:
🏆 Caroline & Oliver were crowned SATP Equitation Cup Champions at their very first show crossing over from the eventing world into the hunter and equitation rings!
🌸Sarah & Calloway finished 5th in the SATP $1,000 Derby.
🌸 Sarah & Cricket earned 6th in the SATP $1,000 Derby.
🌸 Liya & Cricket placed 5th in the SATP Mini Derby.
🌸 Lucy & Orion finished 6th in the SATP Mini Derby.
🏅 Susan & Walker made a fantastic debut together, winning two Long Stirrup classes at their first show as a team!

It was a hot weekend, but we made the most of it with great rides, lots of laughs, and delicious group dinners. 💕 We’re so thankful for this amazing team and can’t wait for the next adventure!

✨ It’s been a busy few weeks for the VHE crew, and we’re so proud of everyone! 🩷🐴

At Old Mill Farm:
🥇 Chrissy & Bulleit won their Combined Test—this pair has come so far!
🥈 Liya & Cricket finished 2nd in their first Starter CT.
🥉 Valerie & Saint finished 2nd at his first show, already living up to his name.
🥉 Mia & Deli finished 3rd, continuing to gain experience (and earning Deli the nickname “Flying Delimeat!” 😂✈️).
🏅 Tina & Dayax finished 4th and keep improving every time out.

Then on Wednesday, Madison and Amanda took their fancy OTTBs to Fellowship Farm:
🥈 Madison & Gentry rode their best test yet to finish 2nd, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for this pair.
🥇 Amanda & Pete won their First Level test with an impressive 70.4% and took home High Score Adult Amateur, earning a $300 gift card! 🎉

Now it’s time to load up again! 🚛💨 The VHE team is heading to Carolina Horse Park today for a weekend of eventing. Wish us luck, and stay tuned for more updates! 🩷🍀🐴

What a wonderful weekend at Carolina Horse Park for War Horse Eventing!

The results don’t come close to showing just how much everyone has improved over the last few months. Watching these partnerships grow and gain confidence has been incredibly rewarding.

✨ Mia and I’d Be (Deli)ghted lived up to their nickname, Flying Deli Meat, and completed their very first horse trial with clear rounds in both stadium and cross-country!

✨ Caroline and Roturier finished 3rd in only their second Novice horse trial and were the only pair in their division to go double clear in both stadium and cross-country.

✨ Cheyenne and Dippin’ Dots delivered their best dressage score and stadium round to date, putting them in 1st place heading into cross-country. An unfortunate refusal moved them down the standings, but they still finished an impressive 5th overall.

✨ Kalyn and Reese’s Pieces earned a fantastic 25 in dressage, and despite a few time penalties on cross-country, finished in 6th place.

Weekends like this are about so much more than ribbons. They are about progress, confidence, partnership, and celebrating all the little victories that add up over time.

So proud of this group and all they accomplished this weekend. Already looking forward to the next adventure! 🩷🐴🏆

After 5 years, Bo and I finally made it down centerline at May Day Dressage last weekend 💕✨

Huge thank you to Jeanne Karver for the incredible coaching and to my mom for the support. We accomplished our goals for the weekend and even finished as High Point 2nd Level on Sunday 🩷🏆

Madison’s Gentry also got to come along for more mileage and show experience. He continues to prove he’s well on his way to becoming a true show horse 🌸💖

💖🎀 Happy Belated Birthday to Fairland 🎀💖

After years of trick riding and Roman riding because apparently normal riding was never exciting enough, Fairland has decided to “retire” into safer hobbies… like jumping and attempting western dressage on an ex-rodeo bronc horse. Naturally. ✨

Somewhere between running Freedom Farm, fixing broken things, saving horses, solving everyone else’s problems, and surviving what feels like a weekly episode of Naked & Afraid: Farm Edition, she occasionally remembers she’s supposed to take riding lessons too 💅🏼🐴

Most lesson days involve Fairland arriving approximately 14 seconds before ride time, one boot half on (or sometimes barefoot), while Valerie quietly wonders how this woman has survived this long… let alone stays on a horse 💀🎀

To be fair, Valerie also gets most of her horse desensitizing advice from Fairland… which explains why the training methods occasionally look less “classical” and more “survive and adapt” 🤠✨

And yet somehow, against all odds, they still manage to make the horse go around and occasionally even in the correct direction, balanced, and looking suspiciously competent ✨🩷
Happy Belated Birthday to the human tornado, chaos coordinator, horse whisperer, and personal chaos coordinator we all love!

Valerie Harr Equestrian would definitely be quieter without you… but way less iconic 💕🐎✨

The OTTBs (and their humans) had a great day at Fellowship Farm yesterday!✨

Amanda and Pete had a successful debut at 2nd Level, and Madison and Gentry had a great outing off property as they continue to gain confidence and experience together. Excited to see them build on that success this weekend at May Day Dressage.

So proud of these teams and all the hard work they continue to put in every day. 🖤🩷

War Horse May 2026 was one for the books 💕

There is truly nothing better as a trainer and coach than watching your riders go out and shine after a long winter of hard work, early mornings, cold rides, and endless preparation. Weekends like this make it all worth it.

The icing on the cake was Caroline and Oliver finishing 3rd in their very first Novice event on an impressive dressage score of 33.6 — only .8 points out of first 💖 We could not be more proud of this pair and all the work they’ve put in to get here.

So many special rides, confident rounds, and happy horses all weekend long — exactly the kind of weekend we work for.

And to top it all off, we even got to sneak away for dinner with some of our friends from Southern C’s ✨

🌸 Our incredible Head Groom, Abbey, and her horse Dallas took top honors in the trail class—and as always, Abbey made sure every horse and rider stepped into the ring looking their very best 💗

🌸 Fairland and Syrus made their overnight debut look easy, showing us they’re ready for the next step ✨

🌸 Lucy and Orion continue to grow into a consistent, competitive pair, earning great ribbons all weekend, including 5th in the Derby 💗
