Aspen being a minor distraction for these two amazing pups, Lola and Ferb! People ask me how does aspen help with clients and what does she provide? This she becomes a very laid back distraction at first. Then we start to amp up what aspen is doing and the “noise” she makes for the clients pup to see but then focus back in on the handlers. This is week 5 for these two pups who struggled with focusing on their handlers, now we are engaged, looking up towards the handler, and being rewarded for making the correct decisions. Couldn’t be more happy with the progress these two have made.

Appreciation post for the best big boy. Love this photo of him. Many don’t know the catahoula breed, but they are an amazing breed. They are the Louisiana state dog and we’re originally bred for bore hunting. They have webbed paws to help them swim better. And a short water proof like coat. Not huge shedders like your Germans or Belgians but they do shed a bit here and there. They typically can have two different color eyes. Most catahoulas are actually taller than my Koda and weigh more males coming in anywhere from 70-90lbs, Koda being on the lower end of that. Colors vary widely but most will have the black spotting that you see on him. They are extremely loyal and watchful dogs. Big time droolers so if you don’t want to walk into a puddle after they drink water they aren’t for you Not a huge fan of the snow typically (at least Koda isn’t) mainly due to their very short coat and very little fur being on their paws. Love this big guy and he’s been an amazing pup. ❤️

Stopping in to have a drink and get some food yesterday at Tavern on 6th, Aspen enjoying herself and relaxing after working with a client.

“Place” being worked yesterday while mowing the lawn, Koda not where I’d like him to be yet but he did great yesterday. Scared of the mower but after about 15 minutes got used to it and didn’t move. Proud of him 😎

Getting ready for work yesterday, working with a client who’s pup could not walk by other dogs with out barking now is walking off leash, doing sit stays right next to Aspen with no issues. Hard work pays off 😬😎

2.5 hours of corn hole play yesterday, both dogs on the place boards. It’s great when you have a dog who listens and isn’t acting crazy while you and a buddy play some co****le. Let’s get to working together to get your dog like this.

Teaching Aspen something new, I haven’t had her drop the ball in particular box or anything prior to this. Took about an hour for her to get the concept. Next I will mold this into place the boxes she picks up for recycling into our recycle bin. I forgot how fun it is to teach her new things as we haven’t really learned anything new in a couple months.
