Friends of Plumas County animals is a public non-profit corporation dedicated to rescuing, sheltering and re-homing animals in a safe environment. We work to reduce the number of unwanted/homeless animals through the spay and neuter programs. Our adoptable animals are offered without adoption fees to approved homes, and we survive on the generous donations of our adopters and supporters. Friends a

Charlotte is a sweet girl that loves a good brushing. She would excel in a quieter home with older children. She loves treats and sleeping hard while dancing as you can see 😺
She tolerates the other cats in the main room but doesn't have any snuggle buddies. Left behind by her person- she is looking for all the Love her own home would provide.

The last of our Big Boys- Bean😺
Just as sweet and lovey as Chi and Sonny.
Amazing how open and affectionate these boys are. Although Bean didn't want to hop on the scale, this volunteer is guessing he weighs close to the same as Chi (18lbs) and is as tall as well. Indoor boys that we would love to see adopted together but would make a great addition to any loving home that has time to spend with them. Having been without much human contact for a couple years prior to coming to Friends, they deserve all the time and love now 💛

Sonny is Chi and Beans roommate and good buddy. All from the same house where they lost their owner. Sonny would not get on the scale, he is tall but does not weigh as much as Chi (and Bean). Sonny is a chill dude. He takes his time to come over, flop and get pets. A handsome boy no doubt😺

He's not overweight..just big. (This volunteer tried getting his shoulder height but Chi didn't like the measuring tape). Chi is a chunk of love, sweet as his roommates Sonny and Bean. If you can't adopt right now, come and give some pets and share his post.

Oreo came to us heavily pregnant and had her babies a few days later. As first time young mama, she struggled at first but eventually got the routine down. All her kittens are sweet and playful.. just like Oreo😺
Kittens are available now- in pairs or with another cat in home. We have an application process and require a kitten deposit that may be refunded upon spay/neuter or given as a donation. Oreo will be available after her spay.

The Plumas Feral Spay/Neuter Project will have it's 7th Spayathon on October 17.
We are looking for community cats/feral cats that need to be spayed or neutered --we have openings for 100 animals from every town in Plumas County. The animals will be trapped, housed in safe spots, transported for surgery, given all vaccinations and returned to the home site after recovery.
