I started doing absolutely nothing yesterday, and I have to say, I’m making excellent progress. 😂❤️

I had plans.

I was going to clean a little.

Fold some laundry.

Maybe organize a drawer.

Then I sat down for “just a minute,” turned on the television, made myself a cup of coffee, and somehow the whole afternoon disappeared. 😅

So today I thought about getting up and being productive.

Then I realized I already had an unfinished project.

Doing nothing.

And I was raised not to quit halfway through something. 😂

At this age, I’ve stopped feeling guilty every time I take a quiet day.

The house will still be there tomorrow.

The laundry isn’t going anywhere.

And whatever is sitting on that kitchen counter has clearly decided it lives there now.

Sometimes you need a day with no schedule, no rushing, and nobody asking you for anything.

Just your favorite chair, something good on TV, a warm drink, and maybe a little nap if the mood strikes. ❤️

So if anybody needs me today, I’m very busy.

I have absolutely nothing to do, and I intend to finish every bit of it. 😂💕

Your puppy chewing, mouthing, and chasing everything in sight isn't the problem. It's what happens when you don't give them a better option.

Give those normal instincts somewhere appropriate to go, like playtime with other dogs, chew toys, and real enrichment, and you'll spend a lot less time being frustrated by your puppy and a lot more time enjoying them.

Salem, Justin and Buffy bring you another joke…but I don’t think they’re joking 😹

A single quarter felt like a fortune.
It burned in your pocket the whole walk.

The bell on the door rang.
The smell of candy hit you instantly.

Glass jars lined the counter.
Tootsie Rolls.
Mary Janes.
Pixy Stix.

You counted carefully.
You chose wisely.

The brown paper bag got heavier.
So heavy it might tear.

And somehow, that felt like winning.
Simple joy.
Pure excitement.
No batteries required.

Had to be careful not to rip the clothes

Had to be careful not to rip the clothes

There was a time when entertainment didn’t need batteries, screens, or updates.
All it took was a pair of scissors, a careful hand, and a quiet afternoon stretched wide with possibility.
Paper dolls weren’t just toys — they were entire worlds waiting to be built.

We cut slowly, afraid to slip and ruin a dress or lose a tiny paper tab.
Every outfit mattered. Every choice told a story.
Who went to school today? Who stayed home? Who wore the fancy dress and who kept it simple?

Hours passed without anyone checking the clock.
Our imaginations did the heavy lifting, and somehow, that was enough.
Looking back now, it’s hard not to smile at how little we needed to feel so completely absorbed and content.

We didn’t have online school or Zoom classes… 😅
We had homework, a pencil, and the kitchen table ✏️📚
And mom in the background making dinner like everything was normal. ❤️

Those simple days hit different… who remembers? 👇
