Unfortunately, we are one of the only professions that is promoting processed food diets to our pets as the best diet for their whole life. ⁠

Studies through Health Research Institute has shown that dogs and cats who are on a kibble diet have much higher levels of glyphosate in their urine than pets on a raw/less processed diet. ⁠

These chemicals are coming from the ingredients that are being used in your pet's food, like oats, legumes and wheat that are heavily sprayed with Roundup at the time of harvest. ⁠

There are numerous benefits to feeding a lightly cooked or a raw food diet. ⁠

KIBBLE IS TO BLAME FOR FAT DOGS!!!! In my opinion, it is a best naive to believe that food choices alone, are cause of the pet obesity crises in the UK. (You can quote me on that one).
This is a really good marketing angle! However when we start to feed a fresh, whole, living foods, diet, we do start to touch on other positive lifestyle choices for our beloved pets.Many pets are ‘Des*xed’ at under a year old. Cats & dogs need these all important s*x hormones. Just as we do when we female’s have a hysterectomy, we keep our ovaries to continue producing important hormones. If the canine body has these important s*x hormones removed, the body has to attempt to manufacture them somewhere else, leading to diseases like Cushings.
When a pet is des*xed they put on weight. They have a more barrel like appearance many women that have gone through the menopause have experienced a ‘thickening of the waist’. Ask your vet for an OSS - O***y Sparing Spay.
Over vaccination can cause a myriad of health issues not to mention possibly thyroid damage, often the first signs are: WEIGHT GAIN - ALOOF BEHAVIOUR - SPOOKED OVER EVERY DAY OCCURRENCES
Ask for a TITER TEST instead of a yearly booster.
And of course make careful choices for feeding your beloved pets & ensure that your goals for nourishing your pets are realistic & achievable.
All of the above can cause weight gain as well as general stress including separation anxiety leading to excessive cortisol release , even your stress has an impact and simply
not exercising your beloved dog enough.
There are many factors as to why pets are obese. Multiple cofactors are often the causation not just one culprit. is an excellent gateway to making the decision to making feeding a fresh diet a lifestyle choice for both you & your pets.
Next time you’re judging a pets owner for creating a fat dog! Remember there are many reasons why. Heart disease, Cushings & Thyroid issues can give the appearance of an obese dog. ⁣⁣

😎Not because someone posted a article about the “benefits”. Listing every vitamin that you’ve ever heard of and convincing you of, eye health, gut health, blah,blah,blah! Honestly the amount you’d have to feed in a one off serving would be immense.

✅Offer a rotation of fruits that your pets enjoy.

⚠️If you’re only choosing fruits for your pets that are based on a value of beneficial vitamins, then you my friend have been sucked well & truly right inside .

🍎The need to convince us in a scientific manner as to why we should feed these “dog safe” foods to our pets, formulated by scientists. Far too big brain for us muggles to work out!

Well it turns out, not much other than it being a borderline genius way to profit off of pet parents.

These diets are made up mostly of carbohydrates like rice & corn and cost over $100 a bag!

Next time your vet pushes prescription food on you, ask questions and have them clarify exactly how it will heal your dogs Issue, do some research, and compare the ingredients to what you are already feeding.

There’s no doubt that food can be medicine, but these “prescription” foods are not kind of medicine your dog needs.
