With warmer weather arriving, mosquitoes become more active — and that means a higher risk of heartworm disease for our pets. Heartworm is a serious and potentially life-threatening condition that can affect both dogs and cats, damaging the heart and lungs if left untreated.  

The good news is that heartworm disease is preventable with simple monthly prevention and routine testing. Prevention is safe, effective, and much easier than treating an infection.
