Local feed stores are great for breeders. We used two over the last two years and both have now closed down. It's sad to see. The only feed store left near by is a major chain store. Local distributers don't ship to our location or require large orders. Online orders or the occasional trip to the chain store are what is needed to feed our hungry budgies.

I have been refocusing my efforts into the birds after letting the breeding die down for a while. Budgies are adorable to the extreme. That is all.

Website is down, It guy is working on it. I've decided to post something after a reasonable 2 weeks... Oh, that was November 4th ... 2013 last I posted. >_< I must be thinking in a time wrapped budgie vision. Breeding is/was slow but is picking up again! They are staying toasty warm in the 60 degree winter, burrr. Take care you budgie lovers!

Yes, we are still alive and making babies! I just had the desire to post on here, crazy I know, but my thought is to dispel a common rumor!

It is a rumor that parakeets/budgies need a roosting box! They don't! Other species of birds do, but budgies don't. They like to huddle together in trees/on perches.

If they are scared, cover the cage halfway. If they are cold, cover their cage, and use heaters or keep them out of drafts. If they are laying on the cage floor looking like they need to find a comfortable place to sleep, take them to a vet - they might be sick!

Ah, feel better getting that off my chest. :)

We are now in full swing of hand feeding duty! Everyday, each and every baby bird we have that is old enough gets some one on one TLC with us. Then they all take some nice long naps with their family and full tummies!

Named two new couples recently, Ozzie/Harriet and Cleopatra/Markus Antonius. Of which, Harriet and Ozzie hatched their first baby today!

Us banding the oldest baby bird this around of hatchings. Not to worry it dosen't hurt the little guys, putting the bands on now or them having the bands on the rest of their lives. Some babies start fussing with us messing with them, others just sleep through the whole processes. They do like our warm hands though, so cute~
