🏆 **SHOW DAY TWO: WE'RE DOING IT ALL AGAIN!** 😂

Yesterday was a full day of judging rings, ribbons, friends, cats, snacks, conversations and repeatedly checking the show schedule because somehow we STILL don't know where we're supposed to be. 😂

And today?

We do it all over again.

One of the coolest things about a two-day cat show is that yesterday's results don't guarantee today's.

Different judge.
Different ring.
Different competition.
Different opinion.

And that's exactly why showing can be such a valuable tool for a breeder.

One ribbon doesn't tell us everything.

One judge doesn't tell us everything.

One show doesn't tell us everything.

But over time, seeing how our cats are evaluated by multiple judges gives us another piece of information we can use when looking at our breeding program.

We celebrate the wins.

We learn from the losses.

We cheer for our friends.

And occasionally we whisper to our cat:

**“Listen. I KNOW you know how to stand. Please stop acting like you've never had legs before.”** 😂

So here we go, DavisVonNaki.

**DAY TWO. LET'S DO THIS.** 🤘🏆

☀️ SPHYNX EDUCATION: CAN SPHYNX GET SUNBURNED?

YES.

And your naked little sun worshipper apparently did not receive that memo. 😂

Because Sphynx don't have a normal protective coat, their skin has less protection from direct sunlight.

And unfortunately, many Sphynx LOVE warmth.

So you'll frequently find them stretched across the sunniest spot in the house looking like a rotisserie chicken.

Cute?

Absolutely.

Unlimited sun exposure?

Not such a great idea.

Windows can reduce some ultraviolet exposure, but they don't necessarily eliminate it, and direct outdoor sun creates an even greater concern.

We want our cats to enjoy warmth while also protecting that beautiful naked skin.

Warm blankets? ✔️

Heated beds used safely? ✔️

Cozy sweaters? ✔️

Turning themselves into a crispy chicken nugget?

❌ Professor Meowgi says absolutely not.

Although he is probably currently lying in a sunbeam while saying it.

🏁 **IT’S SHOW DAY! DAY ONE!** 🏆🐾

The car is packed, the cats have been groomed, we have approximately 487 things we probably don't need—and the DavisVonNaki crew is officially at the show! 🤘

If you've never been to a cat show, here's how it works:

Throughout the day, our cats will compete in multiple judging rings with different judges.

And that's one of our favorite things about showing.

There isn't ONE person deciding whether your cat is “good.”

Each judge independently evaluates the cats against the breed standard and brings their own experience and interpretation to the table.

Sometimes you have an AMAZING ring.

Sometimes you don't.

Sometimes you're standing there thinking:

**“EXCUSE ME. HAVE YOU SEEN MY CAT?!”** 😂

But that's showing.

We aren't here just to collect ribbons.

We're here to learn, represent the Sphynx breed, spend time with some pretty incredible cat people, and get independent feedback on the cats we're producing.

Of course…

We would also like the ribbons.

We're not THAT evolved. 😂🏆

Wish the naked crew luck today!
