Rain and snow are falling directly onto rescued animals who already survived abuse. They should be safe—but their shelter is collapsing.
My name is Patricia, and I volunteer at 4Balzanes, a small animal refuge in Soignies, Belgium. This refuge gives abused and mistreated farm animals and cats a second chance at life—many arrived frightened, neglected, and broken, after suffering at human hands.
Today, their safety is in danger again.
The stable where these animals sleep is falling apart. The roof is broken, and when it rains or snows, the water pours straight inside. There is no protection from the cold. Watching rescued animals shiver after everything they’ve endured is heartbreaking.
Repairing the roof would cost more than building a completely new stable. Sadly, there is no support from the government or the city. The couple who run the refuge give everything they have—financially, physically, and emotionally. They pay nearly all expenses themselves and survive only through donations.
Those donations are just enough for food, hay, and straw. There is nothing left for major repairs.
That is why we are asking for help.
Every donation—no matter how small—brings these animals closer to a dry, warm, and safe stable. Your support means:
