Grooming is exhausting for dogs especially when they are senior. Ty does not do well standing for extended periods of time so we make accommodations for him. First, we don’t bathe him often. He gets brushed regularly in short bursts instead. Is he smellier this way? Yes, a bit, but I can live with that since a bath makes him achy for days.
Second, Sophie starts his grooming with him lying down. She can get all those areas with the clippers while Ty relaxes.
And then in the end Ty still has the energy to stand on the grooming table for the sc******ng but it may take more than one session to complete.
I am happy to have a dog who looks a little rough around the edges in his twilight years if it makes him more comfortable 😁
