It’s been a bit since I’ve made an actual post here, and there are a few reasons why.

First, I recently had surgery on my hand, which has caused a lot of stress and a few complications, but thankfully things are finally starting to improve.

Second, I’ve really been enjoying my goats and getting back into everything with a better mindset. It’s been a rough year in a lot of ways, but it’s all been worth it.

Lately, I’ve been focused on drying the girls up and weaning kids, which has made things anything but peaceful around here. (They scream. A lot.) But honestly, I wouldn’t change it for anything. I truly love this life and these animals more than I can explain.

I’m excited to start posting more updates once I heal a little more, especially because there are some really exciting goats coming up in the herd. Princess, who’s pictured here, is definitely one of them. For now, though, I’ll just keep posting older pics and videos 😂

Rosie walks into the stand every single milking looking like this and I don’t think she understands how much I appreciate her for it. She’s seriously so special to me.

Whew… what a group to evaluate this year.

We recently got updated photos of the 2026 kids, and I couldn’t be happier with how they’re coming along. While it was a smaller kidding season, the overall quality is a clear step up from previous years. This is the first year I’ve been able to see a consistent improvement across the whole group, which is really exciting.

What stands out most is the consistency in the Nigerians. They’re all Dallas kids, and that uniformity is something I’m very pleased with. Keeping and using a first generation homebred buck out of a first freshener is always a bit of a risk, especially this early on, but it’s one I’m really glad I took. The consistency he’s producing is exactly what I was hoping for.

The Patron daughters are also very impressive. They’re correct, balanced, and really reflect him well. It’s definitely bittersweet evaluating them without him here, but he absolutely left his mark. I’m so thankful to have two of his daughters to carry that on.

And Apple… I just love that doeling. She’s so dairy and still has plenty of power, and she’s hard to overlook even at this age. I’m really excited to see how she matures, because I think she’s going to be something special.

All pictured at one month old.

WG Hills PD Silent Witness “Whitney” is one I can’t stop noticing in the baby pen. She’s got that “look at me” factor, and I honestly think she might be one of the nicest kids I’ve bred so far 🎉🎉!
