Why aren’t cream puppies always born in every litter?

This is a great example of how genetics work in nature.

Even when both parents carry the cream gene, each puppy only has about a 25% chance of being cream. Because of this, it is completely possible for a litter to produce no cream puppies at all, even when both parents carry the gene.

Every puppy inherits a different combination of genes, which is why nature sometimes surprises us. 🍃
