The Dog House Inn -- Is my home where I live with my two boys, Tommy & Jack, and my two dogs, Perlita & Lupino. This is where I grew up, and is a perfect place for dogs of any size to come and play. We sit right next to a golf course-- so in winter we go for long walks out there (see photos). Originally my business started after my second son Jack was born, I didn't want to work in NYC anymore (I

was a fashion executive for a Childrenswear manufacturer), and I wanted to do something part time. That was over 20 years ago! After my Divorce in 2010 I moved back to my childhood home, and I was still walking & boarding a few dogs...while taking care of my Mom. In 2014, my Mom passed away, and I bought a house in Florida! I thought I would move there to be closer to my sister and youngest brother(I have 6 brothers). However, my boys, did not want to go, and I really didn't want to live away from them either. So I rented out my home in Florida; "Casa Divina" (named after my mom) on Vrbo & Airbnb. I decided while my boys are still at home, I would open up my business again. And, so The Dog House Inn was created. I wanted to offer the dogs a "family" away from home, where they can feel safe and have a good time--essentially a vacation for your dog! Since, I offer my home in Florida to people looking to go on vacation, why not offer The Dog House Inn as a place for dogs to go on vacation... so an Airbnb for dogs! The dogs are cared for as if they were my own, and they have full access to the property--They can play in or outside all day if they want. They can sleep in any part of the house that is comfortable, which includes the couch, and if they can fit? They can sleep on my Kingsize bed...which is where most of them end up! Most of the time they follow me around while I garden, and play "ball". They spend a lot of time playing with each other, and so the dogs that come MUST be socialized, and submissive, not dominant, since I am the "Pack Leader"! Aggressive dogs, are not a good fit. Neither are timid dogs, or "pampered" dogs. My dogs play, they get dirty, they are silly and sometimes rough with each other...But, I am always here to make sure things don't get too crazy... once in a while I have had a dog completely covered in mud! Then and only then do I offer a free doggie bath! So, if you have a dog in need of a little vacation--whether it is because you are away? Or, because they need a break-- for a day-- a night-- a weekend? I am looking forward to meeting many new dogs. THX
