🐍 SNAKE BITES & PETS: PLEASE BE AWARE! 🐶🚨
Florida pets can encounter snakes in yards, parks, and even around the house. Snake bites can become an emergency quickly, so knowing what to look for is important.
🚨 Watch for:
• Sudden swelling, especially the face or muzzle
• Puncture wounds or bleeding
• Pain or tenderness
• Weakness, shaking, or vomiting
• Difficulty walking or breathing
• Collapse
If you suspect your pet has been bitten:
✅ Keep your pet calm and still
✅ Call your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary hospital immediately
❌ Don't cut the wound, suck out venom, or apply a tourniquet
❌ Don't try to catch the snake
When it comes to a possible snake bite, don't wait for symptoms to become severe. Seek veterinary care right away!
