I did a career thing for just my benefit for the first time in my whole life.
The new baby Irish girl is home. 24 hours on the road there and back and this freshly four-year-old is already healing my sweet Kea mare’s broken heart.
We’ve suffered an absolutely unfair amount of loss on the farm recently and Kea has been feeling it the most. (Ok, it hasn’t been that much, but I’m not used to losing a single horse ever, so.)

Josie’s first time trying a down hill line! And first time schooling a two stride gap in ages! This woman has moved heaven and earth this year to build her nerve! Biomechanically correct seat work for the rider is as paramount as correct flat work is for the horse.

I finally have a little wiggle room in the training board schedule but it won’t last long!! I offer 14 days - 60 days at the moment. Your horse(s) will live in 24 hour turn out on an acre and a half with access to shelter at all times. Located in Pueblo, CO MHE is a busy but relaxed program with easy access to state park trails at the reservoir. The arena includes a 20x40 meter dressage court and stadium jump course along with some various XC schooling obstacles scattered around the farm.

MHE prioritizes welfare above all and a low pressure learning environment for horses and humans alike . We are aligned with some of Colorado’s most highly accredited vets, farriers, saddle fitters, etc. which allows us to adhere to the highest echelons of care and training. From strength building ground work to under saddle, this program is designed to benefit any horse and rider practicing any discipline; through science based methodologies and classical riding practices we can cater to any hobby or performance goal. Show campaigning opportunities available as well.

Many of you answered my story to ask about my happy mares!! Tbh: “mean” mares are frequently just very expressive horses who speak openly about how unhappy they are in their environment. The most important thing in *any* horse’s life is friends, (24/7) forage, and freedom (14+ hours a day!!) and when they are not afforded those basic needs then yeah.. I don’t blame those ladies for making their feelings known!
••• MHE has limited training board open by interview only, and if I’m being honest… mares might get the privilege because we specialize in happy girls here!!
