Taken directly from the 1971 ACT OF CONGRESS: "Congress finds and declares that wild free-roaming horses and burros are living symbols of the historic and pioneer spirit of the West; that they contribute to the diversity of life
forms within the Nation and enrich the lives of the American people; and that these horses and burros are fast disappearing from the American scene. It is the policy of Congress that wild free-roaming horses and burros shall be protected from capture, branding, harassment, or death; and to accomplish this they are to be considered in the area where presently found, as an integral part of the natural system of the public lands." ............................................................................

Why is the BLM completely disregarding the 1971 ACT OF CONGRESS? They are capturing, branding, harassing and yes even killing the WILD horses! They are more worried about the sheep that infiltrate the area after they decimated the horse herds that have been there for hundreds of years all while using tax payers money on the outrageous and horrendous round ups! None of these horses (which are supposed to be protected) deserve to go through this especially babies and pregnant mares! They are being drove by helicopters for miles in desert heat and babies are falling behind and losing their herd! Do you know what happens to babies that fall behind and they lose their herd? A. They are either forgotten about and nature takes it course and that could be the better option but still heart breaking all on its own or B. No good cowboys go back run the baby down laso it and drag it back to the loading area where the rest of the herds were captured, thats if the baby even makes it that far cause the baby will fight the whole way there if its not to exhausted, while it tries to fight off the bad guys there is potential for injury, and if that happens guess what, the no good cowboys have no option but to euthanize the baby right there! These round ups need to stop! The BLM needs to be STOPPED! Our American ICONS OF THE WEST NEED to be PROTECTED! STOP THE HELICOPTERS IMMEDIATELY!

Hello everyone! I hope this evening you all are safe from the Aspen Acres Fire! I just wanted to say we are here to help! If my trailer was up and running I would be out there helping load animals and getting them to safety but all I can offer at this moment in time is a soft place for a few horses and some chickens to land until all of this nightmare is over, and of course I can offer some prayers, and hugs and even a shoulder to lean on! OUR STORY

Where It All Began
In 2021, I witnessed one of the largest wild horse roundups in the United States at the Sand Wash Basin in Colorado. Seeing so many mustangs removed from their home and transported to holding facilities changed me forever.
I learned that there are now more wild horses living in captivity than roaming free on public lands.
That moment became a calling.
I knew I had to take action — to create a sanctuary where these incredible animals could live safely, be properly cared for, and experience life as close to freedom as possible.

OUR MISSION

Building a Wild Horse Sanctuary in Colorado
Our goal is to establish a dedicated wild horse sanctuary and rescue in Colorado, beginning with the purchase of approximately 80 acres of land.

Year One Goals:

Secure property (ideal: 80 acres)
Bring home at least 10 mustangs from holding facilities
Obtain business and nonprofit licensing
Purchase essential equipment (trailers, fencing, shelter, water systems)
Establish partnerships with veterinarians, farriers, trainers, and volunteers

We are committed to providing:

Safe, spacious living environments
Proper nutrition and medical care
Gentle handling and training when appropriate
Lifelong sanctuary for those who cannot be rehomed

Over time, we plan to expand and offer:

Equine-assisted therapy programs for military personnel and emergency responders
Community education programs
Search and rescue/recovery support initiatives

DOMESTIC HORSE RESCUE

Because Every Horse Matters
In addition to wild mustangs, we are committed to rescuing and rehabilitating domestic horses facing neglect, abandonment, or unsafe situations.
Our domestic rescue efforts will include:
Emergency intake and rehabilitation
Veterinary and farrier care
Nutritional recovery programs
Behavioral training and gentling
Adoption placement when appropriate
Lifetime sanctuary for unadoptable horses
We believe every horse — wild or domestic — deserves dignity, safety, and compassionate care.

Good evening everyone! Just wanted to hop on give a little update on the progress of the sanctuary! We are going to have to restructure the plan a bit! We are moving on from the non profit idea unfortunately! 😕 We are still going to help the American icons of the west (the mustangs) but focus more on mounted search and rescue and mounted search and recovery and some other ideas that are being tossed around! We are currently looking for some property and are looking forward to the next adventure!
