The time has come and I need shares to help this business grow! BLM is getting ready to do another round up here in Colorado, that's going to put another 1,000 or more mustangs into holding! Let's help these American icons! The ones that have been in holding and the ones who are going to be coming into holding deserve a soft place to land and a place to call home!

Dapple Grey Equine Sanctuary & Rescue
Giving Mustangs the Freedom They Deserve!

Restoring hope.
Protecting freedom.
Building a future for wild and domestic horses in Colorado.

OUR STORY

Where It All Began
In 2021, I witnessed one of the largest wild horse roundups in the United States at the Sand Wash Basin in Colorado. Seeing so many mustangs removed from their home and transported to holding facilities changed me forever.
I learned that there are now more wild horses living in captivity than roaming free on public lands.
That moment became a calling.
I knew I had to take action — to create a sanctuary where these incredible animals could live safely, be properly cared for, and experience life as close to freedom as possible.

OUR MISSION

Building a Wild Horse Sanctuary in Colorado
Our goal is to establish a dedicated wild horse sanctuary and rescue in Colorado, beginning with the purchase of approximately 80 acres of land.

Year One Goals:

Secure property (ideal: 80 acres)
Bring home at least 10 mustangs from holding facilities
Obtain business and nonprofit licensing
Purchase essential equipment (trailers, fencing, shelter, water systems)
Establish partnerships with veterinarians, farriers, trainers, and volunteers

We are committed to providing:

Safe, spacious living environments
Proper nutrition and medical care
Gentle handling and training when appropriate
Lifelong sanctuary for those who cannot be rehomed

Over time, we plan to expand and offer:

Equine-assisted therapy programs for military personnel and emergency responders
Community education programs
Search and rescue/recovery support initiatives

DOMESTIC HORSE RESCUE

Because Every Horse Matters
In addition to wild mustangs, we are committed to rescuing and rehabilitating domestic horses facing neglect, abandonment, or unsafe situations.
Our domestic rescue efforts will include:
Emergency intake and rehabilitation
Veterinary and farrier care
Nutritional recovery programs
Behavioral training and gentling
Adoption placement when appropriate
Lifetime sanctuary for unadoptable horses
We believe every horse — wild or domestic — deserves dignity, safety, and compassionate care.

Ms. Jupiter got some much needed TLC today! She had a massive knot in her tail! I sprayed some horsey detangler in it and went to work! She stood there so quiet and relaxed! Which at first I didn't think she would do for me! Took me about an hour to get the knot out and the whole time she was relaxed! So relaxed even that she had relaxed her right hip so much she almost fell over, the whole time I'm brushing her tail Phoenix is trying to get into my hoodie pocket and giving me kisses 💋 I absolutely love my girls! Jupiter is going to look good in the show ring this spring and summer!
