🕵️🐾 The Chronicles of JJ: Case File #??? — The Shiny Object Investigation

Agent’s Log: Classified.

I have reason to believe the humans are up to something.

There are shiny objects on my table. The green blanket is suspiciously arranged. And not a single person has explained why I haven’t been offered compensation for overseeing these activities.

I’ve taken a position at the scene to monitor the situation closely. The humans seem to think they’re in charge here.

Bless their hearts. 😂

I’m keeping one eye on the operation and the other eye on my next nap.

Case status: Under investigation.

🐾 Welcome Home, Dr. Farmer! 🐾

We’re so excited to welcome Dr. Farmer back to Pryor Veterinary Hospital—this time as a veterinarian! And for her, coming back to our team really does feel like coming home. ❤️

Born and raised in Salina, Oklahoma, Dr. Farmer has always had a strong connection to the Northeast Oklahoma community. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Medical/Molecular Biology from Rogers State University before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

But her connection to Pryor Veterinary Hospital started long before veterinary school. Dr. Farmer worked alongside our team for several years before becoming a veterinarian, so seeing her return to the practice in this next chapter is pretty special for all of us. We couldn’t be happier to have her back!

Outside the clinic, Dr. Farmer loves spending time with family and friends and staying active. She recently married her husband, Coach Farmer, this summer. As the Pryor High School soccer coach, he shares her love of the sport, so soccer naturally plays a pretty big role in their lives! ⚽️

Family is at the heart of everything she does. She loves a competitive game night, Star Wars movie marathons, and keeping up with her five nephews. When she’s not at the clinic, you might find her enjoying a day on Hudson Lake or cheering from the sidelines at a sporting event.

What she loves most about veterinary medicine is getting to know her clients and their families, building lasting relationships, and caring for the pets who are such an important part of their lives.

We’re thrilled to have Dr. Farmer back where it all began. Welcome home, Dr. Farmer! We’re lucky to have you. 🐾❤️

🐍 Meet Cleo! 🐍

Not every patient that comes through our doors has four legs. Some have scales! 💕

Cleo is a sweet little corn snake who got to spend some time with Dr. Clint Gardner. Corn snakes make pretty awesome pets. They’re generally docile, curious, and absolutely gorgeous with all those colors and patterns.

And clearly, Cleo has decided that Dr. Clint makes a pretty good climbing branch. 😂🐍

We love getting to care for ALL kinds of pets at Pryor Veterinary Hospital! ❤️

🐾 Meet Dr. Kylie Parisotto! 🐾

Dr. Kylie Parisotto is originally from Adair, Oklahoma, and has been part of the Pryor Veterinary Hospital family since 2017. In fact, Kylie is truly a homegrown Pryor vet family member — she got her start here working in the kennels and as a veterinary assistant before heading off to pursue her education.

She earned her associate degree from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College before going on to Oklahoma State University, where she earned both her bachelor’s degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

After completing veterinary school, Kylie returned to the clinic — this time as Dr. Parisotto! She enjoys practicing mixed animal medicine and loves the variety that comes with caring for animals of all shapes and sizes.

Outside of the clinic, Kylie enjoys embroidery, gardening and houseplants, baking, fishing with her husband, and spending time with friends and family. She is also a proud pet mom to Jack, Ranger, and Callie. ❤️

And for anyone wondering about the two Parisottos at the clinic: Kylie’s maiden name is McNitt, and she is married to Blake’s brother, making Blake her brother-in-law. So yes — there are two Parisottos, but Blake is definitely not her husband! 😂

We’re so happy to have this hometown girl back where she started — now as one of our veterinarians! 🐾❤️

🐾 Meet Dr. Braden Winters! 🐾

Originally from Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Braden grew up around agriculture, livestock, and the people who make rural Oklahoma such a special place. He attended Beggs Public Schools, where he showed cattle and goats and spent plenty of time around Grand Lake and Miami with his grandparents.

Braden also worked alongside his parents and helped build their family cow-calf operation, giving him an appreciation for both the hard work and the rewarding relationships that come with working with livestock.

After high school, Braden earned a Professional Sciences degree from OSU Institute of Technology before attending Oklahoma State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science with a Pre-Veterinary focus. While at OSU, he was also involved in fraternity leadership and got to experience being part of America’s Greatest Homecoming.

Braden continued his education at Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he met his fiancée, Sydnie. The two now call Pryor home, along with their two dogs and two cats.

When he’s not taking care of patients, Braden enjoys cheering on the Cowboys, spending time with family, fishing, snow skiing, and, of course, anything that gets him outdoors. He has a particular interest in small animal internal medicine and cattle medicine and is excited to continue growing his skills as a veterinarian.

And if you happen to have homemade chocolate chip cookies around the clinic… well, we’re pretty sure Dr. Winters wouldn’t complain. 😉

We’re excited to have Dr. Braden Winters as part of the Pryor Veterinary Hospital family and can’t wait for you to meet him!

🐮🎃 Getting ready for pumpkin patch season!

Dr. Clint and Skyrecently got to spend some time with Bex (the big guy!) and his adorable little buddy, getting them both vaccinated before they head to the pumpkin patch in Bixby this fall.

Bex is pretty impressive, but we’re not gonna lie… that little calf definitely stole some of the attention. 😂❤️

We love getting to take care of our local livestock and help keep these guys healthy for their busy season!

Now just look at that face. 🥹🐄

Dr. Brock Courtney grew up on a cattle operation in Pryor, Oklahoma, where he developed a deep appreciation for the agricultural way of life and the values it instills. With deep family roots in livestock production and agriculture, Brock gained an early understanding of the importance of hard work, dedication, and the relationships that connect people, animals, and rural communities.

Brock attended Inola High School, where he was involved in several clubs and had the opportunity to exhibit show cattle. After high school, he attended Oklahoma State University, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2022. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine, earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2026.

Brock’s path to veterinary medicine began with an opportunity to work alongside Dr. Jarod Kennedy at Pryor Veterinary Hospital South. That experience sparked his passion for veterinary medicine and helped shape his desire to pursue a career serving both animals and the people who depend on them.

As Brock begins his veterinary career, he is especially excited about the opportunity to give back to the community that raised him. He looks forward to using his education and experience to serve livestock producers, companion animal owners, and the rural communities that have played such an important role in shaping who he is today.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Brock Courtney to Pryor Veterinary Hospital and look forward to watching him grow as a veterinarian while continuing the tradition of compassionate care and service to our community.

We’ve had quite a few people ask us lately, “Why does Pryor Veterinary Hospital hire so many new veterinarians?”

Well… this is a pretty great example. ❤️

Meet Dr. Cooper Hicks.

Cooper graduated from Oklahoma State University and came straight to PVH as a new graduate. For the past two years, he’s been here learning, growing, seeing a little bit of everything, and getting the kind of hands-on experience that comes from being busy and exposed to a LOT of different cases.

And today is his last day with us.

Not because something went wrong. Quite the opposite.

Cooper is heading to Geary, Oklahoma, where he’ll be taking over his grandpa’s veterinary practice — something that has been a goal of his for a long time.

And honestly, THIS is one of the reasons we love bringing new graduates into PVH.

They come here at the beginning of their careers, work alongside experienced veterinarians, see everything from routine appointments to complicated cases, build confidence, and figure out what kind of veterinarian they want to be.

Then, eventually, they take all of that experience and go chase the things they’ve dreamed about doing.

But while we’re incredibly proud of where Cooper is headed, we’re also really going to miss the person he has been here.

Cooper has worked incredibly hard these past two years, and he has brought so much compassion and genuine care to our patients and their families. He’s one of those people who you can tell truly cares about the animals he’s treating, and that matters.

He’s a wonderful veterinarian, but more importantly, he’s just a really good human. We’ve been lucky to have him, and we’re grateful for all the hard work, long days, laughs, and countless patients he’s cared for along the way.

So, Cooper — congratulations on this next chapter! We’re excited to see you take everything you’ve learned here and build something of your own. We know your grandpa’s practice is in good hands.

We’re going to miss you around here. ❤️

Meet Our New Veterinarian – Dr. Katelyn Messersmith!

Please help us welcome Katelyn Messersmith to the team!

Dr. Messersmith completed her undergraduate studies at University of Nevada, Reno before earning her veterinary degree from Oklahoma State University. During her undergraduate years, she spent much of her time working in dairy medicine, which helped grow her passion for veterinary care and animal health.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Messersmith loves staying active and busy. She enjoys playing soccer, traveling, spending time outdoors, and working on puzzles. She also appreciates a good 2-stepping song and proudly claims pink as her favorite color! Family is important to her, and she has one older brother.

We are excited to have Dr. Messersmith as part of our team and know our clients and patients will love getting to know her!

Over the next few weeks, we’re going to introduce you to the veterinarians who have recently joined our team — and we think you’re going to love getting to know them!

One of the things we’re really proud of at Pryor Veterinary Hospital is being a place where learning never stops. We love giving veterinary students and new doctors the opportunity to see unique cases, get hands-on experience, learn from an experienced team, and grow into confident veterinarians.
