Such a great weekend for our head border collie in charge!! Luna passed her therapy dog training! I am so so proud of her mom and her for putting in the work!
Luna was a found as a stray I think 2 years ago here in Prunedale area, she had ran so far her paws were bloody. No one came for her, BUT Barbara volunteered to foster her and then decided to keep her! I volunteered to watch her after her spay since Lunas mom volunteers in Monterey every other Sunday and she didn’t want to leave her alone.
Fast forward to now! She is on her way to being a therapy dog!! Rags to riches for sure!
From her mom: “A big morning for Luna today. Our last Therapy class was held in a busy park outdoors in high temps! Luna was the perfect student, ignoring bicyclists, strange dogs, squirrels….earning her a certificate of completion for therapy pet prep. Now we can sign up to take the test.
After class we had an hour with trick or treaters of all sorts, some in motorized wheelchairs, some with walkers, some with autism, and even a little baby in a carrier (Luna loved that baby!). Luna was a butterfly, I was a bee and together we were the “paw”inators. No pics w kids but have before and after. Luna was pretty wiped out after so many pets & belly rubs and kids giving her cheese and bacon (I made her real bacon for this day).”
