We are a County Animal Shelter attached to Roscommon County Animal Control. This department accepts strays and homeless pets as per official policies, investigates complaints, and rescues animals in emergencies. We encourage and support the community to spay/neuter, vaccinate, and microchip their pets. We are pleased to offer low-cost services to help out. Low-cost cat spay/neuter clinics are held

monthly. At the time of surgery, you may also get vaccines. Call the shelter at (989) 366-0260 to learn more. Micro-chips are available at $25. We hold low-cost vaccination clinics annually. All dogs over 4 months of age must be licensed annually. New licenses are available November 1 - February 28 each year. Beginning March 1, licenses are considered delinquent. Social media helps shelter pets get adopted and helps lost and found pets find their way home. •DO NOT use this page to message or post complaints or report crimes against animals. You must call the Shelter at (989) 366-0260 and speak to staff or leave a voicemail after hours. In case of emergency CALL 911. For non-emergencies, call Central Dispatch at (989) 275-0911.
•All lost and found pets must be reported to the Shelter at (989)366-0260 to staff or leave a voicemail after hours. We are also happy help you post pictures and information to this page. Just message the page and a volunteer will answer you.
•The Roscommon County Animal Shelter is open to the public 7 days a week from 9am - 4pm except holidays. Voicemails are checked frequently and calls are returned promptly.
•“Friending” between Roscommon County Animal Control Officers or Shelter staff and members of the public is not an endorsement of any actions or comments.
•Public comments on this page are not to be understood as endorsements or policy of the Shelter or Animal Control.
•Roscommon County Animal Shelter reserves the right to remove comments and/or block anyone who posts inappropriate material as determined by page administrators. Very large neutered male found roaming on Pontchartrain Lane during the winter. Very nice boy just causing havoc with neighborhood dogs so ended up at the shelter. If anyone may have been missing this big boy since winter or recently, please give us a call at 989-366-0260. Thank you
