Finally set up a male pet enclosure for my boys to enjoy! One at a time of course, but they'll all at least get to cycle through and enjoy the pet experience on their breeding breaks!

I've had a 40 gallon tank for my non-breeding lady mice to enjoy since the beginning of breeding. They get toys, standing wheels, ladders, tons of bedding to tunnel in, and they enjoy it thoroughly.

Meanwhile my males have been left with the usual breeding setup cages, and haven't really gotten to experience pet life unless sold to pet homes. This is fine, sure, but a part of me has always wanted to have a cage for my males to enjoy as well.

Well good news-- I FINALLY got a 25 gallon opening enclosure for my bucks! I'll be keeping a buck in there for 1-3 weeks at a time and then cycling all they guys through. Just gotta make some adjustments to ensure we don't have any escape artists, and then it'll be good to go!

Mommas are a black merle texel and a black self texel. Buck for both litters was a recessive yellow texel

A look at some lovely little recessive yellows!

Been selecting all my xblacks, agoutis and yellows for pigment coverage, depth of pigment and overall intensity, in hopes of getting closer to recessive reds, really nice dark blacks, and Intense agoutis. So far, progress is being made quite successfully! I'm excited to see how these gals develop with time.
