🐾❤️ Celebrating Our Amazing CVTs! ❤️🐾

A special shoutout to Audrey, Kelly, Tamara, Marisa, and Amy!

These amazing women bring so much knowledge, skill, compassion, and heart to PRAH every single day. From their expertise in surgery, anesthesia, & patient care to mentoring teammates, comforting pets, educating clients, and keeping our busy hospital running smoothly, they truly do it all!

So much of what they do happens behind the scenes, but none of it goes unnoticed. We are incredibly lucky to have each of them as part of the PRAH team!

Thank you for all that you do — we couldn't do it without you! ❤️🐶🐱

Happy Vet Tech Week! 🐾

Leptospirosis..

- Rats & Raccoons are most common carriers. Therefore, dogs in urban areas are most commonly infected through contact with rodent urine.
- There is a vaccine available for dogs that protects them against the multiple strains of Leptospirosis.
- The very first time they receive the vaccine, it needs to have a booster 2-4 weeks from the initial vaccine. Then, it's just once a year!
- Leptospirosis can be spread in the urine for MONTHS.

Needless to say, protect your pet from this potentially fatal disease.

🍄 Mushroom Toxicity Awareness 🍄

Not all mushrooms are harmless! Some wild mushrooms can be highly toxic to pets and may cause anything from vomiting and diarrhea to seizures, organ damage, or even life-threatening illness.

🐾 Keep curious noses away from mushrooms growing in your yard, on walks, or in the woods.
📸 If your pet eats a mushroom, take a photo or bring a sample with you if it’s safe to do so.
☎️ When in doubt, contact your veterinarian or a pet poison hotline right away.

When it comes to mushrooms, it’s better to be safe than sorry!
