NO, WE CANNOT TAKE YOUR KITTY.
A reply we never wanted to write…

With heavy hearts, we need to be honest with our supporters and surrounding communities.

For years, Percy’s Angelic Cat Rescue has done everything possible to say “yes” to cats and kittens in need. We have taken in the sick, the injured, the abandoned, the orphaned, and the forgotten. No matter the circumstances, we found a way.

Today, we must face reality.

We simply do not have enough foster homes, volunteers, or financial support to continue taking in every cat or kitten that needs help.

Every cat that enters our rescue requires food, litter, vaccines, deworming, flea prevention, microchipping, spay or neuter surgery, veterinary care, transportation, and most importantly, a safe place to stay while waiting for a forever home. We can often find ways to cover the medical care and supplies, but we cannot create foster homes where none exist. 💔

Our rescue is powered entirely by volunteers. Many of us work full-time jobs, care for families, and manage our own responsibilities while trying to save as many lives as possible. Unfortunately, the number of active volunteers and foster homes continues to decline while requests for help continue to grow.

At the same time, donations are at some of the lowest levels we have ever seen. Veterinary costs, food, litter, medications, and everyday expenses continue to rise. We have reached a point where we need to close intake completely.

We do not want to say no.

But rescue cannot happen without people willing to step forward.

If you have ever thought about fostering, volunteering, transporting cats, helping at adoption events, or making a donation, NOW is the time!

✨ Did you know our page has nearly 1,800 followers?

Imagine if every follower donated just $1 per month.

That would be $1,800 every month for the cats.

That would help cover spay and neuter surgeries, vaccines, emergency medical care, food, litter, and supplies for countless cats and kittens who otherwise have nowhere to go.

Just $1 a month.

One dollar may not seem like much, but together it could change everything.

Please help us continue saying “yes” to cats in need.

Please donate if you can. Please volunteer if you have time. Please foster if you have space. And if you cannot do those things, please SHARE this post!

Because every share reaches someone who may be the person that saves a life.

It takes a village.

Right now, the cats need theirs. 🐾🏡🐾🏡🐾

✨UPDATE: Daisy has been found SAFE!!

🚨 🐱 DAISY IS LOST IN CHAPIN, SC 🐱 🚨
Near Old Lexington Highway between Sid Bickley Road and Stucks Point Drive

DSH tabby & white female, chipped and fixed.

Last night she decided to have an escapade and escaped through the front door of her foster home to frolick into the woods.

A trap 🪤 will be set up on the Foster’s property tomorrow if she doesn’t appear overnight.

Please let us know if you see her! ☎️ (803) 816-1078

Daisy was originally feral and is still super shy, BUT she is very WET FOOD MOTIVATED!

Let’s bring her home! 🏡 🙏

*Her left ear also has an ear tip from TNR

Every spring and summer, rescues, shelters, and volunteers are flooded with one thing:

🚩 “FREE KITTENS”

We understand that most people mean well. They want to find homes for kittens quickly. But what many do not realize is that every “free kitten” post represents a problem that could have been prevented.

Those adorable kittens grow up. They have kittens. Their kittens have kittens. Before long, a few unfixed cats can turn into dozens, then hundreds.

Meanwhile, rescues like Percy’s Angelic Cat Rescue are stretched beyond capacity. Foster homes are full. Veterinary bills are overwhelming. Shelters are crowded. Volunteers are exhausted.

The good news? There are low-cost spay and neuter options available in many communities. Prevention is always kinder, easier, and less expensive than trying to solve the crisis after it begins.

We cannot rescue our way out of overpopulation. We need the COMMUNITY to be part of the solution!

✔️ Spay and neuter your pets
✔️ Support TNR programs
✔️ Foster when you can
✔️ Donate if you are able
✔️ Educate friends and family
✔️ Adopt instead of buying

It takes a village to save lives. Rescue organizations and shelters cannot do it alone.

Please do YOUR part so fewer kittens are born into a world where there are not enough homes waiting for them. ❤️🐾

If you need guidance about low-cost spay and neuter and TNR options in your area, please reach out to us!

Folks, it really pains us to write this today, but unfortunately Percy’s Angelic Cat Rescue can no longer offer free Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) services to the community at this time.

All Newberry County TNR requests will now be referred to Feral Cat Solutions of Chapin, Inc and the Newberry County Humane Society.

This decision has not been made lightly. One of the most important tools in preventing unwanted litters and reducing shelter intake is spay and neuter, and we remain committed to ensuring the cats already in our care receive the veterinary services they need.

The good news is that one generous family has already donated $100 to our Spay/Neuter Fund, which will cover 3 surgeries this month. We are incredibly grateful for their support!

However, we still need to raise enough money for 5 more vouchers at $30 each, for a total of $150.

Many people do not realize that the care we provide goes far beyond a spay and neuter surgery. For every cat or kitten that enters our rescue, we typically invest more than $200-$250 in veterinary care on EACH of them, including:

🐾 Spay/neuter surgery
🐾 Vaccinations
🐾 FIV/FeLV combo testing
🐾 Microchipping
🐾 Flea prevention
🐾 F***l testing
🐾 Deworming
🐾 Medications and treatment when sick
🐾 Food
🐾 Other supplies

With multiple litters of kittens already in our care, every dollar makes a difference.

If you would like to help, please consider making a donation to our Spay/Neuter Fund. Your support helps us continue saving lives, preventing future litters, and giving cats and kittens the healthy future they deserve!

Thank you for standing beside Percy’s Angelic Cat Rescue and the cats who depend on us. ❤️🐾
