We are Border Collie Rescue & Rehab

We are a network of volunteer foster homes, which means all dogs adopted through us come from loving, caring homes straight to you. Since we don't use a holding facility, our dogs come to their new homes calm, relaxed, and ready for a new life, rather than being nervous and traumatized from the noise and chaos of a shelter. We evaluate, rescue and rehabilitate

abandoned Border Collies, as well as other herding breeds, and find homes that will love and cherish them forever. All of our dogs have been fully vetted to include all vaccinations, heartworm test (and treatment, if necessary), spay/neuter, and a microchip with Border Collie Rescue & Rescue contact information. Upon adoption, you will be provided with physical proof of all treatments and veterinary reports, along with a rabies tag and chip information. We will never withhold any information about any animal, and are happy to disclose exactly where we got our dogs from, and when. Our dogs have been temperament tested, and reside in foster homes with families who are active and diverse - just like yours! Our dogs are crate trained and housebroken, and have received training in basic obedience using only positive reinforcement techniques such as leading, shaping, R+, and counter-conditioning. We believe a rescued dog brings experiences with them when they are rescued and with our loving rehabilitation they become perfect lifetime partners. Their backgrounds may vary - from breeders, to farm dogs, to strays - but all of them deserve the unconditional love that they will be glad to give their new families. We bring them into our homes and rehabilitate them by providing them with love, structure and routine. We mend wounds and clean them up both emotionally and physically. We know you have many choices of rescues to choose from. However, we believe once you get to know us, you will find our rescue family to be the perfect match for you and your family.

I spent time with Available COOPER this morning. What a absolutely 100% STUNNING, sweet dog! He is the dream dog we all want! His details in the first comment, below. If you're even vaguely considering adding a real Border Collie to your world, don't let this one get away!

Dinah is under 1 year old, 35 lb, vaccinated, healthy, sweet, energetic dog. Good with dogs, people, leash walking, and fetch playing! She has not been with many children but is curious about them. POPPY! Available for adoption.
This 1.5-year-old Border Collie mix is as sweet as she is beautiful, with a sleek sable coat and a loving personality. Spayed, chipped, hw negative, up to date on shots. 45 lbs. She’s friendly with people of all ages, affectionate, and loves being close to her humans. Although she loves getting hugs and will lean against you, she is not overly needy and will happily find her own spot to chill. She enjoys meeting new people and has a fun, playful, puppy-like energy. Like many young dogs, she enjoys chewing, so she’ll do best with plenty of appropriate toys and guidance.
She can be a little timid in new places or unfamiliar situations, so she’s looking for a patient adopter who will help her build confidence at her own pace using lots of love and positive reinforcement. Once she feels safe, her sweet and loving nature really shines. She is house- and crate-trained and is still learning to walk on a leash. Because she is very focused on small animals in the yard, she would likely do best in a home without cats. A confident dog sibling in the household would be a plus. COOPER! Available for adoption!
Cooper is a 2+ year old Border Collie wh, 47 pounds, neutered, vaccinated, and healthy! He was raised on a large, secluded property near Mexico where he mostly interacted only with the 2 humans who cared for him. He was not raised as a working dog. When illness prevented their ability to care for him, he joined BCRRT. He missed the adolescent window of socialization and his foster mom has been helping him learn that strangers are not a threat. He's made big progress and has a simple, special way he likes to be approached by strangers. It's easy really: no eye contact, and give him space until he makes the approach and asks for a pet! He is sensitive, smart and hyper vigilant…will need time to trust you…after you prove yourself he will show you just how special he is. He loves frisbees and balls and can learn any active job. During the day, he is your shadow. At night he's your cuddle on the couch dude. He can have a brother or sister but needs slow easy introductions. His groomer (who he knows well) said he didn't bother with her cats. No young children please. He doesn't need much just patience, calm and your love....in return he will be the best friend you have ever had forever. Please apply to adopt at bcrrt.com

After receiving treatment for heartworms, Lucy is now full of energy and eager to enjoy life to the fullest.
