cine in the spring of 1986. In 2001, Dr. Streit opened All Creatures Veterinary Clinic, Inc. in the Princeton Shopping Center with 5 employees. The practice grew phenomenally thanks primarily to client referrals and moved to its current 6,000 square foot location in the spring of 2010. In addition to the previous diagnostic capabilities, the facility provides space for a digital dental x-ray unit and an ultrasound unit in the newly dedicated June B. Johnson Advanced Diagnostic Suite. The clinic currently employs a staff of 24 and serves as a vetting, treatment and holding facility for the Southern WV Animal League, as well as other local non-profit animal rescue organizations.

Kitten Update!
Some of you may remember this tiny crew from earlier in the summer — fragile, congested, and needing round‑the‑clock support after a kind client brought them in for help. They’ve stayed with us throughout their treatment, and our team has been right there beside them through every syringe‑feeding, every medication, and every small victory.

Watching them grow has been one of those quiet joys that stays with you. From sick little babies who could barely open their eyes to bright, playful kittens who greet us with tiny purrs and big personalities… they’ve come so far. Their finder is still working toward safe placement for each of them, and seeing them healthy and ready for their next chapter has meant the world.

It truly takes all of us — compassion, teamwork, and a community that cares. 💙🐾

Puff’s Perfectly Grumpy Little Moment
Puff came in for a visit with Dr. Hobson after her mom noticed some eye discharge — and she brought her grumpy face with her. Her mom thought she looked extra cute because of it, and honestly… we agreed.

During her exam, Dr. Hobson performed a gentle fluorescein stain test to check for any subtle issues like surface damage, scratches, and ulcers on the cornea. Puff tolerated it with an adorable “I’m unimpressed” expression, but she was such a good girl, and the test helped us get a clear picture of what was going on.

Cats are experts at hiding discomfort, and sometimes their tiniest expressions tell the biggest stories. Puff reminded us how important it is to notice those small changes… and how even a grumpy face can be full of love. 💙🐾

Sweet Sadie’s Happy Visit
Some patients walk in and instantly brighten the whole room — and Sadie is one of them. She came in for a quick Bordetella vaccine to get ready for her upcoming boarding stay, but she brought so much joy with her that it felt like a little gift for all of us.

These simple, vaccine‑only tech appointments are fast, gentle, and full of tail wags… and Sadie reminded us how even the smallest visits can leave the biggest smiles.

Sweet Nova’s Big Secret
Yesterday’s guesses were so much fun — and today we get to share Nova’s big secret. This beautiful little girl is a Bernedoodle (Bernese Mountain Dog × Poodle mix), and she brought so much light and sweetness into the clinic during her visit.

Her bright blue eyes, her soft snuggles, and that gentle puppy curiosity made her one of those patients who reminds us why we love what we do. Thank you for celebrating her with us — you made her visit feel even more special. 💙🐾

Sweet Louie’s Gentle Pre‑Op Visit
Senior pets teach us so much about love. They slow down, they soften, and they trust us in ways that feel almost sacred. Little Louie came in a week early for his pre‑op bloodwork, and that simple act of planning ahead was one of the kindest gifts his mom could give him.

Pre‑op bloodwork isn’t just a medical step — it’s a moment of protection. It’s making sure his little heart, kidneys, and body are ready. It’s giving him time, comfort, and calm instead of rushing through same‑day testing. And Louie felt every bit of that gentleness. His visit was smooth, quiet, and stress‑free… exactly what a senior deserves.

Before a single patient arrives for surgery, our team is already hard at work. Every drape, every instrument pack, every monitor check — it all happens long before the first incision. This behind‑the‑scenes prep is one of the most important parts of keeping pets safe.

It takes focus, teamwork, and a whole lot of heart to prepare for a full day of procedures. Our surgical team moves together with calm confidence, making sure everything is sterile, organized, and ready for the pets who depend on us.

Medical Monday 💙🐾 — Red‑Shouldered Hawk Edition
Some stories remind us how much kindness still exists in the world. This beautiful red‑shouldered hawk was brought to us by a good Samaritan who found him struggling on the side of the road and severely underweight. Even in moments like this — when the patient is wild, frightened, and far from home — compassion is the first step in healing.

After a gentle exam and supportive care, he was stable enough to be transferred to our partners at Three Rivers Avian Center, where he’ll continue his rehabilitation with people who dedicate their lives to giving West Virginia’s raptors a second chance. Dr. Streit has quietly supported their mission for nearly 40 years, offering his time and expertise whenever a bird needs help — and we’re grateful to be part of that circle of care.

Medical Monday is about these quiet victories… the ones that happen because someone cared enough to stop, to help, and to bring a struggling creature to safety. 💙🐾

We met Diesel, the bloodhound as a puppy needing help for a fractured leg . . . and he stole our hearts from day one.
Today, he walked out healthy, confident, and happily wagging that big tail — officially finished with his puppy vaccines, neuter, and microchip.
Watching him grow up has been one of those full‑circle moments that remind us why we love this work. Way to go, Diesel! 💙🐾
