Did you know you can estimate a kitten’s age just by looking at their teeth?

Baby teeth appear by 2–3 weeks, start falling out around 14–16 weeks, and are fully replaced by adult teeth by about 6 months.

We use this in Shelter Medicine to help determine if kittens are old enough for certain vaccines and now you can use this chart to impress your friends with your kitten-age guessing skills!

Important facts about microchips!
Each year, hundreds of thousands of stray cats are found & brought to shelters throughout the Unites States.
Only 2% of cats are returned to their owners if they are not microchipped. Compared to 40% of cats that are microchipped are returned to their home.
The percentage of returned cats would be much higher if they all had correct registration information.
If they can’t contact you, your cat can still end up in the shelter microchipped.
Reminder: Make sure the registration is correct and up to date!

Dr. Baker was more than a trusted doctor to our patients—he was a compassionate caregiver, a mentor, and a friend to so many in our community. His dedication to animal health, his gentle spirit, and his unwavering commitment to every pet and family he served have left a lasting impact that will never be forgotten.

For 45 years, Dr. Baker provided exceptional care, treating each animal as if it were his own and offering comfort and guidance to their families. His kindness, professionalism, and genuine love for animals touched countless lives.

As we grieve this tremendous loss, we are also profoundly grateful for the time we shared with him and for the legacy he leaves behind. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
