We’re officially 15 days out from Halloween! Here are 3 things you can start working on NOW to help your pup have a calmer Halloween night:

Practice the doorbell 🔔
Play doorbell sounds at a low volume and reward calm behavior. Gradually work your way up so the real thing isn’t quite as exciting or stressful.

Get them used to spooky sights 👻
Costumes, masks, inflatables, and moving decorations can be confusing for dogs. Introduce your pup to unusual Halloween sights from a comfortable distance and reward calm reactions.

Create a safe space 🏡
Your dog doesn’t have to participate in the Halloween fun! Set up a quiet, comfortable area away from the front door with their bed, favorite toys, treats, or an enrichment activity.

Ok Gainesville and surrounding areas

The temperatures are rising, the snow and ice are (mostly!) gone, and the ground is softening up. Sure, it’s a little muddy, but that just adds to the fun, right? 😉

You can see the eagerness in those eyes—someone is VERY ready to shake off the winter rust and get back to work!

This is what real impulse control looks like. And yes, your dog can learn it too. 🛑

This level of impulse control is exactly what stops a dog from dragging you down the street when they see a squirrel, or bolting out the front door when a guest arrives. It's about creating a calm, focused dog in a chaotic world.

Your dog knows "Sit" in the kitchen... but does he know it at the park? 🌳🐕

It’s easy to get your dog to listen when you’re holding a piece of cheese in a quiet living room. The real challenge is getting that same focus when there are squirrels, other dogs, and distractions around.

That’s exactly what we tackle in our Basic Obedience Group Class. We take the skills your dog needs and proof them in a real-world setting.

The Curriculum:
✅ Focus: Watch me (even when exciting things are happening).
✅ Loose Leash: No more pulling your arm off.
✅ Recall: Coming when called, every time.
✅ Duration stays: Building patience in "Sit" and "Down."

🚨 Winter is Coming! Is Your Fur Baby Ready for the Cold? ❄️
The temperatures are dropping, and it's time to adjust our routine for our beloved doggos! Winter weather brings unique challenges, from dry paws to shorter daylight hours.

Key Winter Ready Tips:

Paws Protection: Salt and ice can be painful! Use paw balm or booties before walks.

Cozy Coats: Does your dog have short fur or low body fat? A warm, waterproof coat can make walks much more comfortable.

Hydration: Dogs can get dehydrated in winter, too! Ensure they have access to fresh water, especially if they spend time outside.

Visibility: With earlier sunsets, consider reflective gear for evening walks!
