🚨☀️Symptoms of Heat Stroke in Dogs ☀️🚨

With this HOT weather approaching, it's important to know the signs of heatstroke in your dog, as it can be life threatening. We are having local cases of heat strokes in dogs.

Short nose breeds like Boxers, Bulldogs, Frenchies and others are at higher risk so monitor them closely and keep indoors with AC.

Prevention is always BEST, so you can do things like limiting your dog's exercise and outdoor time and making sure they always have access to shade and water to reduce the risk of Heat Stroke.

Do not walk your dog on the sidewalk or asphalt until evening or early morning. The surface temp during the day will burn their paw pads quickly.

These are the signs to look out for on hot days. If you suspect that your dog has heat stroke, seek immediate veterinary attention.

When we hear TRIAGE over the intercom, you will see staff get to the patient in need QUICKLY! Time is often of the essence for these cases and often times prognosis can be grim but that doesn’t stop our staff from working diligently and at times we need all hands on deck!
This was exactly the case yesterday. George, a very young kitten came in almost lifeless, with owner permission to do what was necessary our staff worked together swiftly to give this kitten a fighting chance. Given George’s condition the owner allowed us to take over care for George so vet techs Cecelia and Brittany (pictured) under direct supervision of Dr. Holmes (also pictured) will be fostering this baby with a hopeful glimpse of a full recovery. We’re rooting for you little man! Get well soon 🐾💕
