Seven whole years of loving you, and somehow, it still doesn’t feel like enough time. ❤️

You have been by my side through EVERYTHING. From our engagement, marriage, pregnancy loss (X2), pregnancy and postpartum, moving twice, nursing school, starting a small business, the long days and even longer nights of running that business, losing loved ones, and all the beautiful, messy, unpredictable chaos that life has thrown our way.

Through every chapter, every milestone, every heartbreak, every victory, and every single change, there has been YOU. 🥹❤️

You’ve seen me at my happiest, my most exhausted, my most overwhelmed, and my absolute lowest. And through it all, you’ve never asked for anything other than to be right beside me.

Some people may say, “He’s just a dog,” but you’ll never be just a dog to me. You’ve been my constant through a life that has changed in a million different ways. You’ve been my comfort on the hard days, my happiness on the good ones, and my little shadow through it all.

My absolute best friend. My first baby. My ride or die. My once-in-a-lifetime soul dog. ❤️

If only you knew how much you’ve carried me through these last seven years, without ever saying a single word.

I hope you know that in every season of my life, one of my greatest blessings has been getting to love you.

Happy 7th Birthday, Toby Joe! 🐾❤️ Here’s to more years of stealing my spot, following me everywhere, being spoiled rotten, and loving you more than words could ever explain.

Life has changed so much in seven years, but one thing never will…..you’ll always be my baby. 🥹❤️

2ND PLACE — JENNY WILEY PARADE! 🐾🏆

This year, Puppy Loft brought home 2nd place for Business Floats at the Jenny Wiley Parade! 🩷

Not going to lie, we didn’t quite show up and show out like we did last year! With the rain and chilly weather, things didn’t go exactly as planned. BUT we still showed up, made the best of it, and made sure we threw out plenty of candy for all the kiddos! 🍬

With that being said, I want to take a moment to say just how SO incredibly proud I am of all my girls! The hard work, dedication, patience, and love that we pour into each and every dog that walks through our doors is something I will FOREVER take pride in. We don’t just groom dogs to get them in and out. We genuinely care about the quality of our work, the well being of every dog, and the little details that make ALL the difference. 🐩

I am also unbelievably grateful for EVERY single one of our clients, whether you’ve been with us since the very beginning or you’re just now trusting us with your fur baby. The repeat business, new faces, referrals, and continued support we receive every single day NEVER go unnoticed. You all are the reason we get to continue doing what we love! ✨

And above all else, I give ALL the glory to the good lord above. ✝️

GOD pushed me outside of my comfort zone and led me down a career path I never would’ve imagined loving as much as I do. He opened doors, made a way, and continued to lead me and my girls to where we are today. I truly believe GOD has had his hands on this small business from the very beginning, and I cannot wait to see what he has in store for us in the future. ✂️

& if anyone ever questions just how much passion and dedication I have for this career, and my business, let me just put it into perspective…

I have an entire nursing degree, yet I STILL choose to stand behind a grooming table every day, loving on and grooming your fur babies. ❤️

Not because I have to, but because I genuinely LOVE and CARE about what I do.

I absolutely THRIVE on the outcomes of our grooms. Seeing a dog walk in needing some extra TLC and watching them leave looking better, feeling better, and carrying themselves differently is one of the most rewarding feelings in the world.

What’s even a better feeling? Is seeing the reactions on their owners’ faces when they come to pick them up? THAT is what makes all the hard work worth it. 🥺

To some, it may be just grooming dogs, but to us, it’s SO much more than that. It’s an art, a passion, a responsibility, and a career that we are incredibly proud to be a part of.

So while we may have brought home 2nd place this year, in my eyes, my girls and this little business are already winners. 🏆

So once again, from the very bottom of my heart. THANK YOU to our amazing community, our wonderful clients, my hardworking girls, and most importantly, GOD, for continuing to bless Puppy Loft beyond anything I could’ve imagined.

🐾 PUPPY LOFT WILL BE CLOSED TOMORROW — 10/2/26 🐾

Puppy Loft will be closed tomorrow, Friday, October 2nd. My little boy is having a sedated procedure + imaging. I will be completely focused on him and will not be answering calls or messages during that time.

Please feel free to leave a voicemail and/or send a message, and I will return everything as soon as I’m able.

With that being said, please keep our little love in your prayers for good results tomorrow. 🥺🩷

🐾 HOW MUCH SHOULD A DOG GROOMER REALLY BE CHARGING YOU? 🐾

I often see people questioning the price of a dog groom and saying, “That’s expensive for a haircut.”

But dog grooming isn’t just a haircut. And it certainly isn’t just about the time the scissors are in your hand.

A professional groomer has usually invested thousands of pounds into setting up their business — grooming tables, dryers, clippers, blades, scissors, bathing equipment, insurance, training and ongoing education.

Then there’s the rent, electricity, water, laundry, cleaning products, shampoos, conditioner, equipment maintenance, waste disposal, business rates, booking systems, card fees… the list goes on.

And most importantly, there is time and SKILL.

A groomer isn't simply making a dog look pretty. They are handling that dog safely, recognising changes in the skin, coat, ears, nails and general condition, working with nervous or difficult dogs, preventing injury and making decisions based on the individual dog's welfare.

This is a skilled trade.

💷 A groomer charging around £30–£40 per hour isn't necessarily earning £30–£40 an hour in their pocket.

That hourly rate has to cover everything above — before the groomer actually pays themselves.

And here's something that really makes me think…

20 years ago, my prices were around:

🐶 Cockerpoo — £40
🐶 Small dog — £35

Twenty years later, those prices have obviously had to increase but have they increased as much as they should have.... I don't feel they have.

Just think about how much rent, electricity, water, insurance, products and equipment have increased over that same period.

Yet there still seems to be an expectation that dog grooming should somehow remain cheap.

Would you expect a plumber, electrician, mechanic or hairdresser to charge the same price today as they did 20 years ago?

Of course not.

So please remember when you book your dog's groom:

❤️ You're not just paying for a haircut.
❤️ You're paying for someone's time.
❤️ You're paying for their years of experience and training.
❤️ You're paying for the equipment and products they have invested in.
❤️ You're paying for a professional, safe environment.
❤️ And ultimately, you're paying for someone to care for your dog's health, comfort and welfare.

Dog grooming is a profession, a skilled trade and a responsibility — not a luxury haircut. 🐾✂️

So perhaps the question shouldn't be “Why does a groom cost that much?”

Maybe it should be:

“How much does it actually cost a professional groomer to provide that service?”
