Not a QH but I want to share the progress of this big warmblood. He hasn’t been easy - balance, cadence and softness are not things that come naturally to him and it has taken some time to get into his head and get him wanting to work with me and not against me. So while he still has a ways to go, I am proud of how far he’s come. He is certainly a much more willing and rideable partner than where we started.

Harvey’s first ride in the big pen was a success! When I say I’ve taken the training on this giant 2 year old slow, I do mean slowwww. He is massive and very growthy and is still very much a baby in his mind. So for the sake of his body and his brain, very little pressure has been put on him. His life consists of a few short workouts a week, lots of turnout and just getting to be a horse. The hope is that he will have a long, healthy and happy career so there is no hurry. I’m confident that he’ll catch up and be a star when the time is right 🤩

At Topline Farm, horsemanship is paramount. We proudly provide an extremely high standard of care for our horses. From what they eat to where they sleep to how they’re trained, the well-being of the horses always comes first.
A pretty facility is just a bonus. The proof is in the horses themselves. Looking for a new barn or program? Walk the barn aisles. What do you see? Are the horses quiet and content? Are the stalls bright and fresh? Are the water buckets clean? Are the haircoats shiny? Can you see ribs?
When you walk through the aisles of our barn you’ll find happy horses snoozing and munching on hay nice enough that with a little salad dressing you could eat it yourself.
When evaluating the merit of a barn and its management, just look at the horses because, well, they never lie.
