We had a wonderful surprise at PAHS when Shanon Sutton and Rusty Allen from GFL stopped by with an incredibly generous donation!
PAHS is honored to be the recipient of GFL’s Full Circle Project Grant in the amazing amount of $5,000. This generous gift will help us complete a couple of much-needed projects at the shelter.
GFL’s commitment to local charities goes far beyond financial support. Their team invests in the communities where they live and work by building lasting relationships and volunteering their time to make a meaningful difference.
We are so grateful to GFL, Shanon, Rusty, and all of the GFL employees for supporting PAHS with such a thoughtful and generous donation. Thank you for helping PAHS continue our mission and strengthen our shelter community!

PLEASE NOTE--THE ALBUM IS UPDATED WEEKLY WITH NEW DOGS/PUPPIES WHO HAVE BECOME AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120. All dogs/puppies will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under "special needs" our dogs have screened heart worm negative. PAHS is open Monday - Saturday from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. We are closed on the last Thursday of the month for staff development. If you would like more information about any of these dogs please call our staff between 11:00 and 4:00 at 334-358-2882. Click on each individual dog's picture to read his/her bio. Please share this album to help us find homes for these dogs. The album will be updated weekly as new dogs become available for adoption.

Meet the PAHS featured pet of the week--Sassy Rose! Sassy Rose is a 5-year-old spayed female Border Collie with a striking black-and-white medium-length coat. She weighs 60 pounds and is considered a large adult dog. Initially shy and timid, she quickly becomes affectionate and forms a strong, devoted bond with her family. Playful and energetic, Sassy Rose enjoys engaging in activities and is highly intelligent and well-trained. She would do well with older children, and a meet-and-greet is recommended if you have another dog to ensure compatibility. A staff favorite, Sassy Rose is a wonderful all-around companion and would make an excellent addition to any family. She particularly enjoys the company of women and would be the perfect new best friend for someone seeking a loyal companion. Once she warms up, this sensitive girl becomes a devoted "velcro" companion. Sassy Rose is both leash-trained and house-trained, making her a loving and reliable addition to her new home. She would benefit from an experienced dog owner who is patient and able to spend quality time with her.
