Today we have learned that the max capacity our plastic patio chair can handle is one person plus our 100Ib wiggling cane corso mix named Hunter. Hunter believes he is our lap dog but fear not! There were no injuries and only a very comfortable Hunter and very uncomfortable Director! We will now be taking donations of sturdy metal patio chairs. Thank you!

Boston still needs help! He is still at the board and train facility in Beloit Kansas, but we are needing to find him a foster as soon as possible as we are unable to cover a longer stay at the facility. He would do better in a home with a submissive dog or only dog household. He has not been showing signs of reactivity but is still very guarded and continuing to decline. He will do best in a home while we attempt to find him a correct permeant home. Please send us a Facebook message if you are interested in fostering.

๐Ÿ’— Even during difficult times, there are still bright spots to celebrate. ๐Ÿ’—

Meet Frankie! โœจ This sweet 3-year-old Shih Tzu mix (we think!) came to us as a stray, completely covered in painful mats. After some much-needed TLC, a good grooming, and getting her spayed, Frankie has been completely transformed!

Just like Cinderella, she went from a rough beginning to a beautiful girl who is now ready to find her happily ever after. ๐Ÿ‘‘

Frankie does well with most people and gets along with small to medium-sized dogs. Now all she needs is a family to see what a special little girl she is and give her the forever home she deserves.

Frankie is ready to find her family!

Toby put up the best fight he could but he unfortunately has crossed the rainbow bridge at 3:21pm. Toby was surrounded by staff, warmth, and love and will be horribly missed. Please be patient with us as we negotiate this loss with extremly heavy hearts while maintaining care on our full house. Thank you.

Toby (Lola's puppy) could use all your well wishes! He is fighting for his life against aspiration pneumonia. These puppies came to use from a hoarding situation at only a couple days old and covered in fleas. The mother, Lola, did her best to care for them under their circumstances and we have done all we can to keep them healthy as they recover. Unfortunately, a few days ago Toby showed signs of illness and we immediately jumped to action. We are working around the clock to help his little 4 week old body to fight this with an already weak immune system. Lola is still doing her best and we are supplementing her food for better lactation and also have begun to supplement feed Toby as he fights this. We will not give up and continue to work around the clock for him with our Veterinarian in hopes he can beat this. Please wish him well, keep him in your thoughts and prayers. We would be crushed if he doesn't beat this. Thank you!

UPDATE! BACK HOME!
Have you seen Riley? She is a 5-month-old heeler puppy that was last seen by the Elm Mills area. If you have any information on the safe return of Riley, there is a reward. We are asking the public for help in relocating and reuniting her with her family. If you may have found her, you can also just bring her to the shelter with no questions asked. We simply want her to be brought back to her home. They are very desperately searching for her and so is her big brother, Rhett, that was adopted from our shelter. Thank you!
