🐾🐾 Honoring a Very Special Member of the Jaguar Family 🐾🐾
At Four Paws Pet Cremation, our mission is to provide dignity, love, and respect to our beloved animal companions in their final moments. Today, our hearts are heavy as we join the Southern University and A&M College community in mourning the loss of a true hero on campus.
Skye, the Southern University Police Department’s certified emotional support animal, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, following a brave battle with chronic pancreatitis. She was 7 years old.
Since joining SUPD in 2024, Skye was so much more than a pet—she was a source of comfort, a peacekeeper, and a bright light for students, faculty, and officers alike.
"Skye was a very special part of our family and she will be missed. Students really embraced her... She really made a major difference in our community policing efforts."
— SUPD Chief Joycelyn Johnson
As a proud Southern alumnus, our owner, Lorenzo Bennett, knew we had to step up for the university that gives so much to our community. Four Paws Pet Cremation is honored to donate our cremation services for Skye to ensure she receives the beautiful, dignified farewell she so deeply deserves.
We send our deepest condolences to Chief Johnson, Dr. Tyra Davis, the entire SUPD family, and every Jaguar student whose life was touched by Skye's gentle spirit. Rest easy, sweet girl. Your legacy of comfort and love will never be forgotten. 🩵💛
