Pug Hollow Sanctuary - A Senior Small Dog Hospice We are a senior dog hospice that does not adopt, currently at capacity and closed to intake. Check out our webpage at
www.pughollowsanctuary.org

It started with one pug and a massively complicated autoimmune disorder. Today Pug Hollow is a home based Hospice and long term care sanctuary for small dogs under 25 pounds. It is unfortunate but often dogs are abandoned at shelters, vet offices or on the side of the road when they become old or ill. Some of them were family pets who became inconvenient. Others have never known what it is to be a

part of a loving home. Pug Hollow believes that every dog deserves to end his or her life with love, comfort and compassion. Our mission is to provide as many of those dogs as possible with a safe, comfortable home where they will be loved and cared for as long as they live, and where they will be compassionately assisted across the Rainbow Bridge if necessary.

The Human Scribe remains away. The Large Mutts (Pepito, Fezz, Honey, and Angus) stayed with the Scribe while the bulk of the Horde went home, so you may see more of them for a while. The Other Human will be trying to take some videos of the Horde for her, but he’s new to the process.
Pepito , the red mutt, and Honey the great dane, getting head rubs. An overlay shows a line art heart and the text, “Wishing you a day full of good things.”

Ozzy is home and resting with the Scribe. In order to try and save the tear duct they went ahead with an imbrication surgery, and since he was already knocked out and getting one eye worked on we asked if they could go ahead and attempt the repositioning surgery on the other eye as well so that he will hopefully no longer have pr*****ed tear ducts at all. His eye is swollen, and the eye that he injured still has a very small cherry in the corner, but hopefully that will recede as he heals, and the repositioning will hold on both sides.

Trigger Warning - Slight censored gore and injury.
Ozzy is on his way to the vet for what will likely be emergency surgery on his eye. While we were doing the morning piddle and feeding, he poked or scratched his eye with something or got slapped by one of the cats. We’re pretty sure he just damaged the pr*****ed tear duct, causing the tissue to expand through the injury to the membrane, but there is a chance that he did damage to the eye as well. If you can spare any donation money towards Ozzy’s emergency vet visit we desperately need all the help we can get. www.pughollowsanctuary.org/donate.php.

The Human Scribe got her paws on a set of dog cooling mats at Ross. The Horde approves.

A series of pictures of various old dogs laying on small pillow size cooling mats. In one picture, Honey the Great Dane makes an attempt to lay on a mat on the couch.

Oh... Ivy Jean...

A fawn chug lying on her back lazily playing with a stuffed toy. A text overlay reads "On a scale of 1-10 how spoiled do you think I am? Tell me in the comments."

Hazel is nearly 2 weeks in to her 4 weeks initial crate rest. She’s approaching her confinement with the air of a haunted Victorian doll that sits in the cabinet, stares into your soul, and might, just possibly, go full Annabelle on you in the darkest hours of the night.

She is feeling much better, but we don’t want to risk re-injury by letting her bounce around too soon. So she’s restricted to crate rest either under the Scribe’s desk, or in the bedroom (wherever the people are) occasional bathroom trips without the other dogs, and a limited amount of very very careful daily person time.

Video is a short clip of a black and tan Chihuahua looking at a Human, and then quickly laying her head down on a dog bed to look mournful. She has a tiny tongue lag.

Ivy Jean is here with the monthly donation ask. We know everyone is struggling right now, but anything you can spare is desperately needed. On top of covering dog food gaps, we had nearly $2000 in vet expenses this month. Most were somewhat planned, but donations have not kept up with the need for regular vetting. Donate at: www.pughollowsanctuary.org/donate.php.

A fawn chug in a pink dress with butterfly wings, sitting in a garden, followed by vet invoices totalling $1505.18 and a note that part of this was covered by the Humans, and that this does not include Hazel’s x-rays which were also covered by the Humans.
