Important Pet Medication Recall

We want to make sure our clients are aware of a recent veterinary medication recall that may affect your pets.
Wedgewood Pharmacy LLC is voluntarily recalling nearly 4,000 compounded veterinary medications due to potential potency issues. The affected products were shipped nationwide between February 18, 2026, and October 6, 2026, to veterinary practices, pharmacies, and other customers. The recall includes various medications in forms such as powders, pastes, oral suspensions, injectables, ophthalmic ointments and solutions, ear solutions, topical sprays, and gels.

What does this mean for you and your pet?
If your pet is currently taking a compounded medication from Wedgewood Pharmacy, please check whether it's included in the recall. You can find the complete list of affected products, including lot numbers and expiration dates, here:

If your pet is on any recalled medications, we'll contact you. We know how important your pet's health and well-being are to you. If you have questions or concerns about a medication your pet is taking, please give our team a call. We're happy to help you understand what this means for your pet and determine any next steps.

Please don't stop or change your pet's prescribed medication without first speaking with your veterinarian.

Next up we have our part time superstars, Magen and Whitney! They both have full time careers, they stay on board with us to share their love of animals and skills.

Whitney (pictured with puppy kisses), fell in love with vet med : "When I was shadowing for hours to get into tech school and I got to watch my first surgery, I was instantly hooked. I wanted to be part of teams that could take the worst day of someone's life and turn it into a happy day with good outcomes."

Magen (masked up), shared a case that she will always hold close to her heart- "In 2015, I had a white cat that was hospitalized for acute renal failure. No one
could get him to eat, and I sat with him for three days. He finally ate for me, and went
home the next day. His name was Moe"

With the candy bowl filling up, a quick reminder for pet families.

Chocolate, xylitol, and raisins are all dangerous for pets, and candy wrappers can cause problems of their own. Keep the stash somewhere your pet cannot reach, and remind the kids to do the same.

Next in line is Brittney, her superpower is hands down emergency care. What keeps her going in veterinary medicine is all of the hard cases and being a part of the team who together is able to bring back a sick pet to good health and go home to their family!

We continue to introduce our superstar vet tech's and today we are doubling down! First we have Stephanie, who's superpower is definitely her love for surgery! She fell in love with veterinary medicine through "Surgery, I was fascinated by the balance when keeping a patient comfortable under anesthesia and being just right. I love the skills learned, and every case is different from the last, even on routine surgeries"

It's time to meet Claire! Her super powers are client communication, pet loss/grief, senior pets, cytology, & training staff. Here she is pictured with a pup who she fell in love with during a hospitalization for serious illness. He is now the newest addition to her family!

"We are all so different, but at the same time we all have one thing in common that is the backbone of how and why we do such a good job: dedication. I have so much pride in this hospital and the people I work with. Every day I go to work, and even on the days I'm not at work, I just feel so much love for River Run."

It's Vet Tech week, and we are here to show love to our amazing team!

Introducing Kat! She has been here since the beginning, our "OG" tech. She has a knack for extra spicy, anxious cats....perhaps because it is her name!

When asked what makes this team special to her, Kat's response was: "Being here from day 1 has given me the privilege of putting my (literal) blood, sweat, and tears into River Run, and watching it grow from a little practice hardly anyone knew of to the booming & busy hospital we are today. This team has had to adapt to SO many growth spurts and changes, and through it all I am always proud of who we are and the care we provide. Truly the most special experience of my professional life thus far."

It is National Veterinary Technician Week and our techs are the heart of this place.

They comfort nervous patients, monitor anesthesia, are your lab-work technicians, surgical nurses, dental hygienists, and somehow still find a way to make everyone feel cared for, pets and people alike. We would be lost without them.
