🌈🐾 Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day 🐾🌈

Today, we take a moment to remember the beloved pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. ❤️

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, observed each year on August 28, is a special day dedicated to honoring the animals who touched our lives and left paw prints on our hearts. Our pets may only be with us for part of our lives, but to them, we are their whole lives.

🐾 A few facts about Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day:

🌈 The day was created by author Deborah Barnes in memory of her beloved cat, Mr. Jazz.

🌈 The “Rainbow Bridge” is a comforting idea that describes a peaceful place where pets wait for their families after passing.

🌈 Pet loss can bring very real and profound grief. Remembering our pets, sharing their stories, looking through photographs, or creating a memorial can be a meaningful way to honor the bond we shared with them.

🌈 There is no timeline for grieving a beloved pet. Whether you lost them yesterday or many years ago, the love and memories remain.

At Emory Animal Hospital, we have the privilege of watching so many pets grow from tiny puppies and kittens into cherished senior companions. We celebrate their milestones with you, care for them when they're sick, and sometimes have the honor of helping families through one of the hardest moments of pet ownership—saying goodbye. ❤️

Today, we remember all of the special patients who are no longer with us. They are deeply missed, but the love they brought into our lives never disappears.

🏴‍☠️ AHOY, MATEYS! ONE EYED W***Y IS SEARCHING FOR HIS FOREVER CREW! 🏴‍☠️🐾

This tiny pirate has already sailed through some rough seas in his short little life, but he’s ready to leave those stormy days behind and find the treasure he deserves most — a family of his very own. ❤️

Meet One Eyed W***y! 🐱🏴‍☠️

W***y is approximately 8–9 weeks old and will receive his first vaccine this week. He came to us with an injury/infection affecting his left eye. The good news is that he does have vision in that eye, and it certainly hasn’t stopped this little buccaneer from discovering how much fun life can be!

W***y is sweet, cuddly and affectionate, and every day he’s learning more about the important business of being a kitten — playing, exploring, getting into a little mischief and, of course, collecting all the snuggles he can get. 🥰

Now we need your help finding W***y his forever port.

A loving family
A warm lap
Plenty of toys
Unlimited cuddles
And a safe indoor home where this little pirate will be treasured for the rest of his life.

🐈‍⬛ Happy Black Cat Appreciation Day! 🐈‍⬛

Today we're celebrating one of the most beautiful—and often misunderstood—members of the feline family!

Black Cat Appreciation Day is dedicated to recognizing black cats, promoting their adoption, and helping break the myths and superstitions that have unfairly surrounded them for centuries. In reality, black cats are just as loving, playful, intelligent, and wonderful as cats of any other color.

💙 Why is this day important?
🐾 Black cats often spend longer in shelters and are adopted less frequently than other cats due to lingering misconceptions.
🐾 Raising awareness helps more black cats find the loving forever homes they deserve.
🐾 It reminds us to judge pets by their personalities—not their appearance!

✨ Fun Fact: Black fur is actually the most common coat color found in wild cats because it can provide excellent camouflage. Plus, in many cultures around the world, black cats are considered symbols of good luck, prosperity, and protection!

Today we're celebrating some of the most fascinating reptiles on the planet! From tiny geckos to majestic bearded dragons, lizards come in thousands of species, each with unique colors, behaviors, and personalities.

💚 Fun Lizard Facts:

✨ Many lizards can regrow their tails if they lose them to escape predators.
✨ Chameleons don't just change color to blend in—they also use color to communicate and regulate body temperature!
✨ Some lizards, like bearded dragons, can recognize their owners and even enjoy gentle interaction.
