At MMC, we try to "see" the misunderstood horse. Oftentimes, perceived naughtiness is just a horse trying to communicate that something isn't right. While we don't accept behaviors such as biting, bucking, kicking, or bolting as okay responses- we really try to understand who the horse truly is and what they need from us.

Just when we start to round the corner of the longest mud season I can remember, it rains again 😅 with the lack of snow, it's been a lot of mud since November! Maybe a few freezes... but mostly mud, mud, MUD!

At MMC we fully believe in humility! When we don't know something, we kindly admit that we don't know. Though, we maintain eagerness to learn! Even as trainers, we constantly are learning and growing. Everybody is ALWAYS a beginner at something. And it is okay to not know!

Sometimes, we even have to have a fresh mind for something we've done a thousand times one way, only to learn there's a better way. It's hard to break old habits, but if we recognize the old way coming back, then pause, think and execute the new way every time- we begin to creat a different neuro-pathway. And the new way becomes the new normal!

It's Cowboy Dressage season out at the barn! Not that it isn't CBD season all year round. But, we have the outdoor court...

It's Cowboy Dressage season out at the barn! Not that it isn't CBD season all year round. But, we have the outdoor court set up, and clinics and shows coming up FAST. It's going to be a fun and challenging summer.
