**Update on Artoo:**

He’s a greedy as***le. 😂

We are finally home. The doctor said it looks like he was able to get all of the biscuit out, but what the X-rays can’t show is whether he aspirated any of it. Apparently, it takes a significant amount of fluid in the lungs before aspiration will actually show up on an X-ray.

She said we won’t know whether he develops aspiration pneumonia unless he actually starts showing signs of it. They also don’t want to give him antibiotics preemptively because if he doesn’t need them, there’s no reason to expose him to antibiotics and potentially contribute to antibiotic resistance.

Since they close at 11 tonight, she told us to pay close attention to him for the next 24–48 hours. If I notice any changes or problems with his breathing, we need to take him to the 24/7 emergency vet, which is over 30 minutes from our house. Unfortunately, it’s the only one on this side of the water.

I’m really hoping nothing comes of this later on. 🤞🏻

But for now, he’s doing his usual thing—being a terrorist, eating ice, and trying to get his belly wrap off by rubbing himself against anything and everything. 🙄😂

So apparently, almost dying over a stolen biscuit has done absolutely nothing to teach him a lesson. But does contribute to putting me in an early 🪦.

Thank you all for the positive healing vibes. I need some now to get my PB down lol. 😂

Stressed. At UrgentVet with our youngest. I swear I thought he was going to die on us.

He stole one of his older sisters biscuit cookies and like an as***le wouldn’t give up. It ended up lodged in his throat. I tried to do finger sweeps but kept pushing it further and further until I couldn’t reach it anymore. He threw up a lot and started panting but on the way here (to the UrgentVet), his breathing kept stopping and his gums went pale. They took him into triage and he’s stable but now scared that he could have some of the cookie in his lungs or aspirated when he threw up and was trying to gasp for air. I think I caused trams to his throat and airway trying to sweep the cookie out because He’s barking weird.

Ugh. I’m stressed and the adrenaline is starting to wear off and I have a headache. 😭

Waiting for dr to come for X-rays.

Norfolk, Virginia $10,000.00 REWARD

Wednesday, July 29th, a woman pulled Rambo from a carrier, dumped him in a field near Armistead Avenue and East 24th Street in Norfolk and drove away in a white sedan.

Rambo suffered from broken ribs, broken bones, and severe, prolonged abuse.
His eyes were crusted shut and he was too terrified to let people get near him.
Sadly, Rambo has since passed away from his injuries.

PETA is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who tortured and abandoned Rambo.

Anyone with information is urged to contact PETA at 757-962-8338
Even the smallest detail could help.

I found out that another fur baby client has made her way to the Rainbow Bridge. 💔🌈

This year seems to have been filled with far too many “see ya laters” (I refuse goodbyes), and no matter how many times it happens, it never gets any easier. They all hit hard—always. Especially knowing that what I thought was just another normal groom with me was actually the last one. 😭

I’m going to give myself a little time before I really sit with this one and allow myself to fully acknowledge that she’s gone, too. I also want to give her family some time to continue grieving. They’ve had to face another heartbreaking loss so soon after losing Dutchess, and my heart truly hurts for them. 💔

I hate having to adjust my schedule—not because of the time or the act of doing it, but because of the reason behind it. Because Pepper won’t be here anymore. They won’t be bringing her back. Pepper is supposed to be there. They’re supposed to be together. I’m supposed to see them together every time. That’s how it’s supposed to be. 😭

I’m going to give it a couple of days before I even think about filling her spot. Right now, I just can’t seem to do it. It will just be Pepper & Duchess’s little brother now. It will feel and be so quiet with only him alone. Not because the girls were ever loud, but because their presence filled the space with so much love, it’s impossible to not acknowledge their warmth.

Some spots on the schedule are more than just appointments. They belong to someone. And when that someone is gone, it takes a little while to accept that the space they left behind is going to be empty. 💔🌈🐾

You girls were loved beyond your family. ❤️‍🩹🥺

Someone please adopt this baby!! And let’s have a frenchie play date!

❤️ Alright, we had our pity party yesterday. Today, we’re back to business.
Life doesn’t stop because rescue is hard. The dogs certainly didn’t get the memo. 😂
While we work on digging ourselves out of our financial hole, there’s something else we can do to make room for the dogs still waiting for us:
GET. THESE. DOGS. ADOPTED.
Starting with Marco. 👀
This little Frenchie has been hanging out in foster care for MONTHS while we got his medical needs squared away. He is healthy, happy, ready for adoption and has received...
OVER 40 APPLICATIONS.
Forty.
4️⃣0️⃣.
And yet, somehow, Marco is still here. At this point, we’re starting to think he has been secretly sabotaging his own adoption so he can continue living rent-free in his foster home. 😂
Marco is an active, playful little dude looking for a French Bulldog-savvy family who understands that Frenchies are roughly 30% dog, 30% chaos, 20% questionable decision-making and 20% audacity.
He’d LOVE a home with other dogs to play with and people who appreciate a busy little guy with a big personality.
His medical needs have been handled. His bags are metaphorically packed. His foster family has done their job.
Now Marco needs a HOME.
Every dog we get adopted means an open foster home. And every open foster home gives us the opportunity to say YES to another dog who needs us.
So, Facebook — you have one job.
Find Marco his people. 🐾❤️
Apply. Share. Tag your Frenchie-loving friends. Send this to the person who keeps saying they “don’t need another dog.”
Because apparently the first 40 applications were just Marco conducting interviews. 😂
