Meat for Cats and Dogs

Meat for Cats and Dogs (not your avergage) Pet Supply Store! At Meat, we strive to make feeding your pet a healthy and natural diet as convenient and affordable as possible.

We take pride in offering biologically appropriates for all lifestyles. We carry an array of all-natural dry and canned foods. Our main passion and focus, however, remains on the benefits of a raw food diet. We love to discuss diet and nutrition with our customers (and the curious), so stop by and say "hey"!

Please adopt, don't shop!!
Spay & Neuter!

Our shelters and rescues are overwhelmed! They need your help with fostering or adopting! If you're looking to bring home a new companion please think of adopting. You can find anything you're looking for in rescue, if you're patient. I promise!

There are breed specific rescues, if you have your mind set on a specific purebred dog. Try checking out Petfinder that lists rescue dogs nearby.

Other places to look:
Multnomah County Animal Shelter
One Tail at a Time
Stumptown Strays
Animal Aid
Oregon Dog Rescue
NW Dog Project
Clatsop County Animal Shelter

Cats - Cat Adoption Team
Animal Aid

That's just a few that I can think of of the top of my head with just one cup of coffee in my system 😉

Remember, rescue animals are not in rescue because they are the problem, it's often other circumstances out of their control that send them there.

💤💤💤 could you hear Marge snoring while I did the voice over 😆😆

Beware! It's foxtail and cheatgrass season!!

If you have this in your yard, please dig it out or keep it cut down. Make sure to sweep up all the seeds left behind too. Those are the dangerous parts.

The seeds are barbed and can get embedded in the skin, stick in eyes, ears and paws, or inhaled into the nose and get into the lungs. It sounds like I'm overreacting, but I promise I'm not. Every year we hear of many dogs getting these stupid barbs stuck somewhere that involves a vet visit to get them out.

Let your neighbors know, because they are kinda pretty and folks don't know how bad they can be.

There are a bunch down the street from the shop that I'm paying to have removed to make it a safer block to walk your pups on. Shout out to Eager Beaver Landscaping for coming out today to take care of that.

Thanks for listening and for helping to keep your pups and others safe this summer.

Audio on to hear Shredder ask very nicely for his beef cheek roll.

As I started to record this his mom was saying that he carries the treat around like an emotional support bundle.

The last one he had he didn't start eating for over a week. He just carried it around with him. Oh boy, do I love this guy!
So ridiculous!

Thanks for watching my very professional reel. I just had to share him.

Maui knows what's good.

This handsome fella has been enjoying the raw food life for about a month now, and is feeling really good.

His folks were making a raw diet for him with our grinds, organs and supplements. I blew their minds when I told them for about the same price per pound, they could feed a food that's already complete and balanced 🤯 it's true!

With the bulk discount we offer and frequent buyer programs, you can get a food that's already to go, you just need to thaw and serve. Easy peasy.

I still like when folks add toppers to these complete meals though. Bone broth, goat milk, fish oil, tripe, sardines, necks, all of those are great additions and can help get variety in your pet's diet. We also suggest that folks rotate between a few different proteins, for variety and to lesson the chances of intolerance.

Come ask us about our complete diets and let's see which one checks the boxes for you. For Maui we went with Wild Coast Raw Beef to start, since he been doing well on a homemade beef diet. Wild Coast is probably our freshest raw, since it's made up in Washington in small batches as the distributors put in orders. It's 90% meat, 10% produce and whole food supplements. And the price on the bulk boxes is great!

Thank you to Maui's rad parents for getting that dude on raw. I'm excited to see him slim down and start feeling even better!!
