ABC is seeking a candidate for a private practice residency toward board certification with the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists (ACVB). Part-time and full-time options available!
This is a hands-on, in-person role for a candidate already local to Portland or willing to relocate, working directly with our team (and alongside Instinct Dog Training Portland). Expected length: 3-4 years, depending on pace and schedule.
Primary mentor: Dr. Kat Pankratz will serve as the primary mentor and Supervising Diplomate, with support from Dr. Chris Pachel as needed.
Eligibility (per ACVB requirements):
✔️ Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary school, hold an ECFVG certificate, or be legally qualified to practice in a US state, Canadian province, or other jurisdiction
✔️ Ready to register with ACVB and secure a Supervising Diplomate (Dr. Pankratz will fill this role)
✔️ Able to see a minimum of 400 clinical cases over the residency, complete required training modules, and produce a first-authored peer-reviewed case report and research publication
✔️ Able to commit to attending the annual ACVB Veterinary Behavior Symposium
