🚨 YOUR DOG IS MISSING — WHAT DO YOU DO FIRST? 🚨

When a dog goes missing, panic can set in quickly. Knowing what to do — and what NOT to do — can make a huge difference in getting your dog home safely.

🐾 Act fast. Stay calm. Stay hopeful.

Our flyer outlines the important first steps to take, including:

❤️ Contact Animal Control
🔎 Do a quick search of the immediate area
🚪 If your dog escaped from a fenced yard, leave the gate open
⚡ Turn off an electric fence so your dog can safely return
🏠 Put familiar items, food and water outside
📱 Alert neighbors and share your lost-dog flyer
🐾 Notify your microchip company
📌 Get large, visible posters up quickly

MOST IMPORTANTLY: DO NOT CHASE OR CALL OUT TO YOUR DOG.

A frightened or stressed dog may not behave like the dog you know at home. Calling, chasing or having groups of people searching can cause them to run farther or move out of an area where they had begun to settle.

If you see your dog, stay calm, get low, avoid direct eye contact and allow them to approach you.
