Our veterinary technicians and assistants make a difference in countless ways every single day. 🐶🐱

Behind every wagging tail and happy purr is a team working hard to keep pets healthy! They take your pets vitals including temperature, pulse and respiration. They collect blood, urine and other diagnostic samples and are able to process many of those samples in our in-clinic labs. They administer medications and vaccines. They take x-rays. and they assist with bandages and wound care.

But their work goes beyond medical care. They remember your pet’s quirks, offer comfort during stressful visits, and help make every appointment a little less scary and a lot more personal. ❤️

Dave came to Town & Country Animal Hospital for his dental cleaning, and this sweet boy was such a good patient for his exam! 🐶❤️

Dave thrives on verbal praise and attention, so our team made sure he got plenty of love and encouragement during his visit. And CC? Well, Dave loved her soooo much that he just couldn't stop giving her kisses! 😘💕

🐾 Vet Tech Week Is Coming! 🐾

When your pet comes to Town & Country Animal Hospital, there’s an incredible team working alongside the doctor, every step of the way. 💙

Our veterinary technicians and assistants are the heartbeat of our hospital. They do so much more than “help the doctor.” They:

🩺 Monitor anesthesia and vital signs during procedures 💉 Draw blood, place IV catheters, administer medications, and give vaccines 🔬 Run important diagnostic tests 🦷 Assist with dental procedures and monitor patients through recovery 🐶 Comfort nervous, scared, or painful patients 📋 Educate pet parents about medications, treatments, nutrition, and at-home care ❤️ Provide hands-on nursing care to hospitalized and recovering pets 🚨 Help our team respond quickly when a patient needs urgent attention 🐾 And, perhaps most importantly, they advocate for your pet when they can’t advocate for themselves.

Being a veterinary technician or assistant requires medical knowledge, technical skill, compassion, patience, and an enormous amount of heart. Their days can be physically and emotionally demanding—and yet they show up every day ready to care for your pets as if they were their own.

Spidey may be a little shy, but he sure knows how to charm the team! 💙 Before his dental procedure, he was enjoying his pre-visit medications and waiting quietly for surgery. And in true Spidey fashion, he rolled right onto his back to show everyone his belly! 🥹🐾

Our team loved caring for this sweet boy and helping him take another step toward a healthier smile. Dental care is an important part of your pet’s overall health, and we’re proud to help our patients feel comfortable and cared for every step of the way. 🩵

🐶💙 Patient Spotlight: Meet Barkley! 💙🐶

We had the pleasure of welcoming Barkley to Town & Country Animal Hospital for his very first visit, and this sweet boy absolutely loved all the attention! 🥰🐾 Our team loved getting to know him and making his first visit a positive experience. He was actually much happier than he looks! He was a very happy boy.

During his visit, Barkley also got a heartworm test and started on heartworm prevention! ❤️🦟 Did you know that monthly heartworm prevention is important for keeping your pets protected year-round? Prevention is a simple but essential part of keeping your furry family members healthy!

Barkley was such a good boy, and we already can't wait to see him again! 🐾💙
