๐ŸŒž Teaching kids & adults how to grow food
๐ŸŒฟ Donating everything we grow

Kindness Farm is a refugee, immigrant & queer led non-profit educational, urban, regenerative farm in SE Portland. We're an almost entirely volunteer run farm that donates 100% of what we grow to people experiencing food insecurity; and we teach kids, adults, and seniors how to grow their own food sustainably, on a limited budget. In the last 3 years we've...

- Taught over 2200 children, adults,

and seniors how to grow their own food

- Donated healthy produce for over 60,000 meals, produce boxes, and free food pantries to those experiencing food insecurity in our community

- Logged nearly 20,000 volunteer hours with our amazing, magical community

We work with historically underserved communities: immigrants, refugees, LGBTQIIA2S+, folks with low-income, BIPOC, & disabled folks.

Pollinators are essential to our food system, but most gardens arenโ€™t designed with them in mind.

Join Slow Food Portland at Kindness Farm for a hands-on workshop focused on how to create and maintain a pollinator-friendly garden. This workshop is practical, grounded, and designed to give you skills you can actually use, whether youโ€™re working with a backyard, raised beds, or a shared community space.

Led by the team at Kindness Farm, youโ€™ll learn how to support pollinators, strengthen plant health, and build a more resilient growing space.

What youโ€™ll learn:

How to create and maintain a pollinator garden

The role of pollinators and beneficial insects in a healthy food system

Planting strategies that support biodiversity and soil health

How small garden decisions contribute to a larger ecological impact

What to expect:

Hands-on learning at Kindness Farm

A seed activity, with seeds to take home

Time for questions and discussion

A catered lunch featuring food from a local business

A day on a farm, please come prepared for the weather in sturdy shoes and clothes that can get a bit of dirt on them.

We ask those who are able to contribute a $30 donation. This helps cover the cost of the catered meal and supports Kindness Farm.

A Circle for Community to Co-Dream and Co-Grieve

A circle to share, to resource resilience, and to dream the future to come.

In the face of ongoing imperialism, ecocide, and genocide, community is our power.

Coming to witness, to listen, and to process in circle is how we move forward. When things feel impossible, we can turn to the ancestral tool of "circle" to find our ground. We are not meant to do this alone, or only with people like us. The circle is where we widen our understanding of who we consider community, and find the path for what comes next.
